London – The Webster, a new design-forward lifestyle hotel brand, announces its official debut with the opening of The Webster Covent Garden, London in July 2026, followed by The Webster Times Square, New York in Winter 2026. Designed for the culturally curious traveler, The Webster blends thoughtful design, engaging programming, and dynamic social spaces to create a distinctly immersive urban stay in two of the world’s most inspiring creative capitals.
Rooted in a desire to reconnect guests with analog pleasures and shared experiences, The Webster offers a modern antidote to digital burnout. From curated libraries and intimate gathering spaces to vibrant food and beverage destinations and neighborhood-driven events, each hotel is designed to foster genuine connection—encouraging guests to unplug, explore, and engage with both fellow travelers and the local community.
Each property is deeply tied to the literary and creative heritage of its respective location. In London, The Webster Covent Garden, London will open on Lincoln’s Inn Fields, long celebrated as a center of intellectual exchange and creative thought. Charles Dickens studied law nearby and drew inspiration from the surrounding streets for some of literature’s most enduring characters. In New York City, The Webster Times Square, New York takes its name from the historic Webster Hotel, where Nobel Prize–winning author Gabriel García Márquez stayed with his family in 1961, a formative period that would later influence his groundbreaking literary voice.
Design & Experience: Where Magical Realism Meets Modern Hospitality
The Webster’s design philosophy is brought to life by award-winning London-based architecture and interior design studio Red Deer, whose approach draws inspiration from the concept of magical realism—layering warmth, texture, and storytelling to reimagine overlooked corners and hidden moments within each property.
Guestrooms are conceived as serene, character-rich sanctuaries with a mature sensibility. Warm neutral palettes complement textured plank flooring, softened by hand-knotted wool rugs and bespoke light fixtures of brass and alabaster. Curated details, including Marshall speakers, Jacob Jensen phones, classic alarm clocks, and hand-selected books, introduce a tactile touch of nostalgia from the side table to the desk. A mid-century style elbow chair at the latter furthers the timelessness of the design. Bespoke artwork and custom-patterned drapery further embrace touches of Magical Realism, reinforcing the narrative of discovery and blending comfort, sophistication, and subtle whimsy throughout the space. Bathrooms offer a calm retreat, where terrazzo flooring and organic ceramic wall tiles in neutral tones are accented by brushed-nickel Kohler fixtures and softly illuminated mirrors.
Across both properties, flexible public spaces and intimate lounges will provide central gathering places complete with layered lighting to foster a fluid transition from day to night. Library nooks are designed to encourage moments of reflection, creativity, and quiet productivity. The Webster Covent Garden, London will offer guests and locals alike an all-day social space in the form of an outdoor lounge that shifts seamlessly from morning pastries to leisurely lunches and evening cocktails. Throughout the hotel, layered textures across bespoke terrazzo flooring and expressive furniture pieces craft an identity that is both contemporary and timeless.
Food, Beverage & Cultural Programming
Memorable food and beverage moments are at the center of The Webster experience. In London, a trio of dining and drinking destinations will be shaped by the three ways of coming to Italy: inherited, lived, and fallen for. Drawing on the tenets of the region’s rich food culture, each space is relaxed and unhurried. The on-property Italian-inspired restaurant and speakeasy, Carmelina’s, will anchor the hotel’s social heartbeat. Tucked away on the hotel’s lower level, the richly detailed space will feature deep red velvets, and a sculptural gold-hammered bar will take center stage, evoking elements of rural, vintage Italian glamour while the soft pulse of live jazz lures guests in for a celebration of indulgence and discovery.
A cafe and aperitivo bar located in the lobby and nearby terrace will bring the same spirit of ease from morning coffee to late-afternoon spritzes. Meanwhile, downstairs, a discrete late-night Italo-Disco locale, Carla’s List, will offer craft cocktails and dancing for those who know where to look.
In New York City, The Webster will provide a home for acclaimed hospitality group Maison Premiere to introduce a dynamic dining and nightlife concept that reflects the brand’s refined yet approachable spirit, celebrated for its atmospheric spaces and elevated cocktail culture.
Complementing The Webster's culinary offerings will be a curated slate of cultural programming and events—from literary salons and artist residencies to intimate performances and neighborhood collaborations—designed to celebrate local voices and foster authentic community engagement.
The Webster Covent Garden, London opens July 2026 and is now accepting reservations, with rates starting at £350. The Webster Times Square, New York will debut in Winter 2026.
