BCD launches Model Context Protocol framework to accelerate agentic AI within its open Tripsource platform
This milestone reinforces BCD's commitment to delivering greater value to its customers through agentic AI and an open approach to travel management
BCD's Model Context Protocol framework enables AI agents to connect across booking, policy, and data systems via natural language, eliminating custom API integrations for corporate travel programs.
AI created by Hospitality Net
BCD, a global leader in travel management, today announced the use of Model Context Protocol (MCP) across its Tripsource technology platform. The MCP framework will accelerate and enhance agentic AI capabilities across all areas of the enterprise. Customers benefit through increased productivity and innovation across all areas of the program, from booking and trip management to program intelligence and spend management.
This is not just a technology milestone. It marks a broader shift toward AI and agentic capabilities across BCD. Think of MCP as a universal power adapter. Without it travelers need to carry a different charger for every country. MCP allows AI to plug into different systems, even as those systems continue to evolve. We are committed to evolving how the industry consumes travel services, data, and intelligence, always with our customers’ outcomes at the center

Less shopping and more booking
BCD's MCP portfolio includes models that expose shopping and booking capabilities for air, hotel, car – and soon rail – in a single, cohesive interface where content and policy are embedded together, not handled as separate downstream processes. This enables consuming applications and agents to surface compliant, preference-based options for quick and easy booking, without the shopping.
Actionable insights with speed and precision
BCD has introduced an MCP interface that enables data harvesting through natural language processing (NLP). Rather than requiring custom code to integrate and orchestrate across a broad array of APIs and data sources, MCP allows systems and agents to access insights directly from enterprise data lakes using natural language. In simple terms – a question is asked and an answer is returned – based on vast amounts of data. This dramatically accelerates data ingestion, analysis, and insight generation.
Cross-functional (AI) agent‑to‑agent collaboration
Beyond external consumption, BCD’s MCPs also unlock faster and more effective internal AI agent-to-agent collaboration, allowing intelligent agents to reason, share context, and act across shopping, booking, policy, and data domains. The result is better, faster insights that directly enhance customer programs, decision-making, and traveler experience.
These investments underscore BCD's belief that the future of travel management is dependent on AI agents, open platforms and shared innovation. By exposing services through MCPs, BCD enables partners, customers, and internal teams to build, innovate, and scale their solutions with greater speed and confidence.
