Positron Launches New Site Survey and Installation Tools to Simplify Hotel Wi-Fi and IPTV Deployments

MONTREAL, QC — Positron Access Solutions, a global leader in innovative connectivity solutions for the hospitality market, today announced that its Virtuoso PRO Element Management Solution (EMS) now scales to support large hospitality networks spanning 1000 GAM devices and over 100K Ethernet over Coax CPEs in a single VM installation. In the coming months, Positron will also be releasing new companion tools to Virtuoso PRO. By July 2026, Virtuoso Prelude will guide the site survey process to facilitate the site-specific design and deployment strategy. Also by July 2026, Virtuoso Overture will be available to guide installation of the Positron Access GAM (Gigabit Any Media) solution for a deterministic, verified and validated installation. By combining the use of these powerful new tools, hospitality MSPs will achieve further cost savings and will be able to scale to more and larger installations at a much lower cost than rewiring.

Virtuoso Prelude: The Ultimate Site Survey Tool

The existing hotel coaxial cabling infrastructure is key to deploying Gigabit Ethernet over Coax to hotel guest rooms. It enables in-room Wi-Fi, IPTV, IoT and Voice applications over a converged network. Over the years, the Positron team has worked with the best MSPs and coax experts in the industry to define and capture best practices. Those practices have now been augmented with unique capabilities from Virtuoso PRO and proprietary GAM technology to achieve robust and efficient deployment strategies for any type of coaxial cabling that may be encountered, from simpler business-select hotels to multi-thousand-room Las Vegas casino properties. Virtuoso Prelude will efficiently collect all required information to support an optimal design and installation strategy for any type or size property.

Virtuoso Overture: A Deterministic and Verified Installation

Using the information captured by Virtuoso Prelude and the resulting site-specific network design, Virtuoso Overture monitors the installation, provisioning and activation of the GAM solution as it is installed at the property. Upon completion of the installation to each guest room, Virtuoso PRO will initiate a property-wide verification of the Gigabit Ethernet over Coax link to each room, including the necessary physical layer performance data, the actual network diagram, and the inventory of equipment installed in the process (including IPTV Set Top Boxes and Wi-Fi APs). Using this information, Virtuoso will prepare an exhaustive installation documentation for approval of the installation, as well as the ongoing monitoring of the GAM solution and of the state of the coaxial physical infrastructure, enabling proactive detection of any degradation that may impact the guest experience.
