Accor, the largest hospitality group in the Pacific region, and Yavu Collective, a Fijian-owned investment and development group, today announced a landmark agreement that will see three distinctive hotels in Fiji join Accor’s global network, marking a significant milestone for the destination and reinforcing the Group’s continued momentum across the Pacific.
Bringing together Sofitel, The Sebel and TRIBE within a single, integrated destination, the signing builds on a long-standing relationship between Accor and Yavu Collective, which began with the opening of Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa in 2005. Today, that trusted partnership evolves further, reflecting a shared commitment to thoughtful development, design-led experiences, and meaningful cultural connection.
At the heart of the development is Sofitel’s second Fijian address. Set to open in early 2027 on Denarau Island, Sofitel Fiji Vatu Talei has been conceived as a design-led resort where French art de vivre meets the richness of Fijian culture. Spanning 10 acres, the property reimagines the destination with a bold architectural vision, shaped by the element of wai (water), from expansive lagoons and a winding lazy river to a rooftop infinity pool and a serene adults-only retreat. Across 176 rooms, interiors draw on local narratives such as the vonu and the Sleeping Giant, creating spaces that invite rest, reflection, and connection to place. A curated mix of dining venues, cultural experiences, and thoughtfully integrated leisure elements completes a refined, immersive resort experience grounded in storytelling and a strong sense of place.
The Pacific is a strategic market for Sofitel, representing almost 50% of our most loyal guests globally. Our commitment here is strong, underscored by renovations at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, planned refurbishments for Sofitel Queenstown and Sofitel Broadbeach, and the continued evolution in Fiji with Sofitel Vatu Talei. Sofitel Vatu Talei, conceived to reflect Sofitel elegance and rich Fijian culture, is a highly considered addition perfectly aligning with our vision for luxury resort experiences in key destinations.

Alongside Sofitel, the partnership will introduce two brands new to Fiji. In August 2026, The Sebel Nuku Loaloa Living will debut its extended-stay accommodation in Fiji. Located in Wailoaloa, Nadi, the property will feature 76 fully self-contained apartments and villas, ranging from one- and two-bedroom residences to expansive three-bedroom villas with private outdoor decks. Designed to offer the ease of home with the comfort of hotel services, each space combines contemporary interiors with subtle Fijian touches. A restaurant and bar celebrating fresh, local flavours will complement an extensive recreation and wellness centre, featuring a 25m pool, gym, yoga studio, sauna, spa, and pickleball court. Guests will also enjoy seamless access to the Denarau Island resort precinct via a complimentary shuttle service.

TRIBE, Accor’s design-led, socially driven brand, will make its Fijian debut with TRIBE Na Tomba, opening in late 2026 on Denarau Island. Conceived as a contemporary hub where design, culture and connection come together, the hotel will offer 118 rooms across a range of flexible configurations, from cosy king rooms to spacious two-bedroom apartments. Guests can expect vibrant dining venues, a lively pool bar, two pools, a 24/7 fitness centre and a range of communal spaces.
Together, the three hotel projects signal a new era for Fiji’s hospitality landscape, where locally developed destinations are elevated through global expertise, while remaining deeply rooted in culture and community.
This partnership with Yavu Collective represents a defining moment for Accor in the Pacific. Fiji continues to go from strength to strength as one of the Pacific region’s most sought-after destinations, particularly for Australian and New Zealand travellers, drawn by its natural beauty, rich culture and warm hospitality. Bringing these brands into one destination through a single, trusted partner reflects both the strength of our relationship and our shared vision for Fiji’s future as a globally recognised, experience-led tourism destination. Each brand has been carefully selected to play a distinct role, from Sofitel as a culturally immersive luxury anchor to TRIBE with its unstoppable social vibe, and The Sebel as a sophisticated, stylish place for longer stays.
