Extendam, Eternam, Sohoma & Sofiparc acquire Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge
French private equity firm Extendam, together with French investment firm Eternam, Extendam’s operating partner Sohoma International and French real estate investor Sofiparc, has acquired the four-star, 93-room Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge in Italy from an Italian family. The property is situated in Rome’s residential Parioli district to the north of Villa Borghese park, a 20-minute drive from Rome’s historic city centre, and includes a restaurant, bar and four meeting rooms. Having not been renovated in 25 years, the hotel will undergo an extensive refurbishment of its guest rooms and public areas in 2027. Sohoma will operate the hotel.
Israel Canada Group acquires Wyndham Excelsior Hotel Berlin
Brown Hotels, the hotel division of Israel-based real estate investment company Israel Canada Group, has acquired the four-star, 316-room hotel that previously traded as the Wyndham Excelsior Hotel Berlin before it closed several years ago. The property is situated in the affluent Charlottenburg district in West Berlin. Prior to its closure, the hotel was operated by Grand City Hotels, a group with close ties to Israel Canada Group. The new owners plan to invest approximately €50 million (€158,200 per room) in an extensive refurbishment of the hotel. Separately, Brown Hotels has also signed conditional agreements to acquire the operations of 5 additional hotels (1,179 rooms) across Berlin, Munich, Leipzig and Hamburg, for a combined reported price of €15.8 million.
Schiehser Hotels acquires Hilton Garden Inn Innsbruck from Union Investment
German real estate investment manager Union Investment’s open-ended real estate fund immofonds 1 has sold the three-star, 159-room Hilton Garden Inn Innsbruck Tivoli in Austria to its current operator, Austria’s Schiehser Hotel Group. The property is situated next to Innsbruck’s OlympiaWorld sport complex, a five-minute drive from the historic city centre. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and four meeting rooms. Union acquired the hotel in 2015. Following a €4 million (€25,200 per room) renovation in 2024, the former Tivoli Hotel Innsbruck was rebranded as a Hilton Garden Inn.
HN-Holding acquires Quality Hotel Grand Royal in Norway from Kubera
Norwegian hotel investment firm HN-Holding AS, owned by Norwegian real estate developer Nordic-Gruppen and Norwegian seafood group Holmøy, has acquired the four-star, 151-room Quality Hotel Grand Royal in Narvik, Norway, from Norwegian real estate developer Kubera AS. Narvik is a coastal town in northern Norway, above the Arctic Circle, near the Swedish border. The hotel includes a restaurant & bar, pub and nine meeting rooms. Norwegian operator Strawberry operates the hotel under its Quality Hotel brand.
Wemo One SCPI acquires Travelodge Plymouth Derriford in the UK
French real estate investment trust Wemo One SCPI has acquired the 75-room Travelodge Plymouth Derriford in the UK for £7.8 million (£104,000 per room), at a reported yield of 7.5%. The hotel is situated in Devon in southwest England, near the Cornwall border, and includes a meeting room. The property is leased to Travelodge under a 22-year fixed-term lease. This marks Wemo One’s first transaction in the UK, and first hotel acquisition anywhere.
Télégramme Group acquires Hotel Le Grand Bé in France from Beautiful Life Hotels
French media company Télégramme Group has acquired the 4-star, 55-room Golden Tulip Le Grand Bé Saint-Malo Hôtel & Spa in Saint-Malo, France, from French owner-operator Beautiful Life Hotels Group. Situated near the beach, Saint-Malo is a historic walled seaside town on France's northwest coast in Brittany, overlooking the English Channel. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and meeting rooms. The Télégramme Group plans to operate the hotel and renovate the wellness area, interior and décor.
