EEA appoints PURE AALTO as Engineering Partner and launches Hospitality Engineering Forum
New partnership will strengthen technical expertise across the global hospitality industry and help accelerate investment in high-performance hotel buildings
EEA and PURE AALTO launch the Hospitality Engineering Forum to connect hotel owners, investors and engineers on building performance, with HVAC cited as consuming 40–60% of hotel energy.
The Energy & Environment Alliance (EEA) today announced the appointment of PURE AALTO as its Engineering Partner and the launch of the Hospitality Engineering Forum, a new global platform bringing together hotel owners, investors, operators, engineers and technical specialists to advance building performance across the hospitality sector.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of engineering in improving hotel asset performance, reducing operating costs and strengthening long-term investment resilience.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are typically the single largest consumer of energy within hotel buildings, often accounting for between 40 and 60 per cent of total energy use. Much of this energy demand continues even when guest occupancy is low, making HVAC optimisation one of the most significant opportunities to improve operational efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
The Hospitality Engineering Forum has been established to help hotel owners, investors and operators make better technical decisions by connecting engineering expertise with commercial strategy, operational performance and long-term investment priorities. The Forum will provide a collaborative platform for sharing technical knowledge, engineering innovation, case studies and emerging best practice, supporting the industry's transition towards more resilient, efficient and commercially intelligent hotel assets.
Many of the investments that deliver the greatest commercial and environmental value in hotels are fundamentally engineering decisions. Improving building performance requires far more than procurement alone. It demands technical knowledge, operational understanding and collaboration across the entire value chain.
