My Place Hotels of America today formally relaunched Trend by My Place at its 2026 convention in Miami. The relaunch introduces a three-tier platform that gives independent owners and conversion candidates a path into a national franchise system without the excessive capital disruption and forced standardization that define much of the conversion space.
Trend by My Place includes three tiers, each designed as a conversion opportunity for a specific segment of the market:
Trend Hotels — A conversion opportunity for owners of modern select-service properties. Refined, efficient, and dependable hospitality that serves both business and leisure travelers, built to compete aggressively in today's commercial lodging environment while maintaining the flexibility and operational practicality owners value.
Trend Hotels & Suites — A conversion opportunity for owners of transient and extended-stay properties who want a versatile brand that meets modern travel patterns. Combines traditional hotel accommodations with studio suites and extended-stay configurations for guests staying anywhere from one night to several months.
Trend Inns & Suites — A conversion opportunity for owners of well-located upper economy and midscale properties with character, accessibility, and regional relevance. Built for the dependable roadside hotel, the trusted regional inn, and the destination lodge.
We built Trend for the owner who has spent years growing a property and does not want to hand it over to a brand that treats it like a template. The best franchise relationships protect what an owner has already earned and add real value. That is the standard we set for ourselves with Trend, and it is the standard we will hold ourselves to as we grow this brand
Ryan Rivett, president and CEO of My Place Hotels of America and The Rivett Organization
Built for the Franchisee
Trend by My Place franchisees gain access to the same commercial platform behind the My Place brand, including standards administration, product and program development, training and quality assurance, central reservations, systems and technology, national sales, business revenue intelligence, and marketing and design services. Franchisees also participate in Stay Rewarded, the loyalty program that drives more than half of revenue for participating hotels, with three quarters of members booking directly.
An introductory royalty structure applies to Trend by My Place franchises executed prior to December 31, 2026.
A Market Moment for Trend
The relaunch comes as conversion activity across the hotel industry runs at its strongest pace in years. Lodging Econometrics' Q2 2026 U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report shows conversions up 15% year over year, with construction starts up 14%. Behind those numbers is a market in transition. Owners of mature properties, weighing costly PIP requirements from legacy brands against a margin squeeze on operations, are looking for a new franchise relationship that offers a different approach. Independent operators, long accustomed to running without a brand, are recognizing the value of national distribution, loyalty programs, and business intelligence tools that no longer require ceding operational control.
When we talked to owners about what they were looking for, the through line was clear: They wanted a franchise partner that actually understood their business. That's what separates Trend. Most franchisors sell marketing platforms. We sell a support system that runs across renovation, operations, and franchise services because we do all of it ourselves. Every Trend franchisee gets the benefit of that
Brian Quinn, chief development officer for My Place Hotels of America and The Rivett Organization
The Power of The Rivett Organization Behind Trend
The Rivett Organization develops, builds, owns, operates, and franchises hotels. Each function informs the others. When the organization asks a Trend franchisee to invest in a standard, the same organization runs its own hotels to that standard. A Trend franchisee who builds through Legacy Builders works with a construction team that reports to the same leadership responsible for hotel operations. A Trend franchisee who brings in Legacy Management gets an operator with decades of proprietary experience running the exact model. Most franchise organizations cannot offer that alignment. Trend by My Place is built on it.
Part of a Broader Growth Strategy
The Trend by My Place relaunch marks the next phase of a broader growth strategy for The Rivett Organization. In May 2026, Brian Quinn joined the organization as chief development officer, a newly created role responsible for advancing unified growth across the enterprise. Since then, the organization has continued to strengthen its development support team, expanding both leadership and regional coverage as Trend and My Place grow nationwide.
