Hong Kong – Mandarin Oriental today launches MO.RE, a new sustainability platform and manifesto designed to challenge the conventions of luxury hospitality and place resilience, connection and regeneration at the centre of how the Group grows, operates and creates exceptional experiences.
Over the past fifteen years, the Group has made significant progress towards its 2030 targets, including a 33% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and more than 80,000 hours contributed by colleagues through volunteering.
MO.RE signals a step change in the Group's ambition: moving beyond incremental, compliance-led action to strengthen the resilience of its business and destinations, reconnect people with nature and culture, and generate lasting positive impact for communities and ecosystems. Its three interconnected pillars, Resilience, Reconnection and Regeneration, will shape decisions across the full hotel lifecycle, from investment, development and design to operations and the guest experience.
Mandarin Oriental's pioneering spirit has long driven us to advance sustainability in luxury hospitality. MO.RE is a decisive step forward. It moves sustainability from the margins to the core of our business; strengthening resilience, improving operational performance and safeguarding the destinations that inspire our guests and define our hotels. As we grow, MO.RE sets the direction for the business we want to build and the legacy we intend to leave.
Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental
The three interconnected pillars of MO.RE:
REsilience: future-proofing hotels and destinations for a changing climate through destination climate-risk profiles, a pathway to net zero by 2050 and greater visibility of Scope 3 emissions.
REconnection: redefining sustainable luxury as something guests and colleagues can experience, enjoy and remember, through family, culinary and wellness programmes rooted in nature, culture and destination.
REgeneration: moving beyond doing less harm to helping destinations thrive, by investing in the ecosystems, communities, skills and living cultural heritage that make exceptional hospitality possible.
The next frontier for luxury hospitality is to use its influence with greater purpose. MO.RE aligns our business decisions with what guests increasingly value: distinctive places, deeper connections to destinations and hospitality that contributes to their future. Our ambition is to make sustainability a business priority, a shared commitment with our partners and a joyful experience for our guests.
Kandé Camara, Chief of Staff and Group Director of Sustainability for Mandarin Oriental

MO.RE will be made tangible through Group-wide initiatives and locally relevant programmes, including:

Celebrity Fans charity programme: mobilising our ambassadors to support community causes.
About the MO.RE logo:
The interconnected pillars are embodied in the MO.RE identity, which is deeply rooted in Mandarin Oriental's Asian heritage. Inspired by Wuxing, the ancient Chinese philosophy of five dynamic and interdependent elements, the logo draws on a worldview in which balance, interconnection and constant transformation shape enduring harmony. It expresses sustainability as a living system in which every action creates momentum. Its continuous form reflects the relationship between Resilience, Reconnection and Regeneration, while the central point signals a deliberate shift: from incremental progress to the transformative change luxury hospitality now demands.
