Just how low is the economy going to go? After its usual lag, the hotel industry now is suffering the full effects of the recession globally.In late April, one of the world’s foremost economic forecasters, the International Monetary Fund, predicted the recession is going to be the worst one since the 1930s. Nowhere appears immune. The IMF expects my country, the U.K., to suffer a 4.1-percent GDP contraction in 2009—1.
