Virinya Maytheepattanachat has been appointed as Director of Marketing Communications at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit (Opening Early 2012)

A graduate of Thammasat University, with a M.A. in Mass Communications and Administration, Bangkok, she has extensively worked in the Public Relations and Communications field with luxury properties for the past eight years. Virinya began her hotel career with Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, Bangkok, rising to the position of Public Relations Manager. She subsequently expanded her experience at the former Marriott Resorts & Spa Bangkok-Pattaya-Hua Hin, where she was Assistant Cluster Public Relations Manager. Prior to joining Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, she was later promoted as Director of Marketing Communications of Sofitel Bangkok Silom in 2010.

Nicolas Ishkanian has been appointed as Vice President Revenue and Distribution Management at Absolute Hotel Services Group

Absolute Hotel Services Group has appointed Nicolas Ishkanian as Vice President Revenue and Distribution Management as of December 1, 2011. Absolute Hotel Services Group, Nicolas Ishkanian will be responsible for maximizing room revenue and other related revenues of pre-opening and operating U Hotels & Resorts, Eastin Hotels & Residences and Eastin Easy properties on a sustainable platform through all segments and sources of room revenue. Prior to joining Absolute Hotel Services, he was vice president sales and marketing at The Unique Collection of Hotels and Resorts Thailand, vice president revenue and distribution at Santiburi Group Thailand and area revenue manager for Le Meridien Hotels in Europe. “Nicolas coming on board completes our corporate sales, marketing and revenue team line up which can fully support our regional offices in South East Asia, Indochina and India in the revenue management and distribution field. Krister Svensson has been appointed as General Manager at St. Regis Bangkok

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Krister Svensson as general manager of the newly opened St. Regis Bangkok. Prior to the St. Regis Bangkok, he was general manager of the W Hong Kong, where his achievements included increasing occupancy by more than 25%. Before that, he managed The Westin Resort Guam. He has also managed the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, Australia; and Le Meridien Commodore Beirut. Before joining Starwood, Svensson worked for several prestigious Shangri-La brand hotels in Asia, Indonesia and the Middle East.

Robert Murray has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer South East and North East Asia at Accor

Robert Murray, formerly Senior Vice President for Accor Greater China, is appointed to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer for Accor in South East and North East Asia. He will commence this role as soon as Samuel Shih's assumes his new functions. Robert Murray joined Accor in 1993 and has since held various operating positions in Australia, New Zealand and China.

Rami Sayess has been appointed as Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok is delighted to announce the appointment of Rami Sayess as Regional Vice President and General Manager. From September 2011, Sayess will be based in Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, with regional responsibilities for the additional three Four Seasons properties in Thailand - Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. His career so far has taken him through stints in Germany, Switzerland, London, Dubai, Mauritius, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, and most recently Saudi Arabia, where he was General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre.

Andreas Oberoi has been named General Manager at St. Regis Bangkok

Andreas Oberoi has been appointed General Manager to The St. Regis Bangkok where he will be introducing the St. Regis Brand to Thailand. Oberoi brings with him an impressive resume of over 25 years in major destinations around the world. He comes to Bangkok from Starwood’s European luxury resort, Hotel Romazzino Porto Cervo, where he was General Manager. Prior to this, Oberoi opened the renowned The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort in Spain. It is the same resort at which he began his career with Starwood Hotels, and under his leadership The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort became one of the top performing hotels in the European Division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Opening of the first St. Regis hotel in Thailand is scheduled for early 2011
