Torsten Pinter has been appointed as General Manager at Swissôtel Nai Lert Park

Prior to his Bangkok appointment, Torsten was General Manager at Swissôtel Foshan which opened in May 2008 to become Foshan’s first international deluxe hotel. In a matter of months, he led his team to win the Best New Opening Hotel of China Award at the 4th China Hotel Starlight Awards and earned himself the Best General Manager of China’s Hotel Industry Award at the same ceremony. With a career that spans 10 countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, this German national first joined Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts in 2001 as part of the pre-opening team of Swissôtel Berlin, Germany. He then assumed the position of Director of Food & Beverage and subsequently, Executive Assistant Manager at Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Centre. Torsten’s earlier career experience includes stints at the Hotel Balmoral, Scotland, The Savoy in London, and with various international hospitality chains including Four Seasons, Sheraton, Le Meridien and Westin.

Johannes Jahns has been promoted to Director of Operations Asia at Best Western International, Inc.

Mr. Jahns was formerly Best Western’s Group General Manager for the United Arab Emirates. Under his new assignment, effective June 1, 2009, he will transfer to the Best Western Asia Head Quarters office in Bangkok, Thailand, and report directly to Mr. Glenn de Souza, Vice President International Operations Asia. With over 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, spanning Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Jahns brings a unique perspective with him in directing Best Western’s operations in Asia. Prior to joining Best Western, he was Chairman of Watertree Hotels and Resorts in South Korea, overseeing the operation of in excess of 2,500 bedrooms and serviced apartments, while at the same time holding a position as a Senior Vice President with Jeju Investment and Development Company, a hotel and real estate developer in South Korea. Mr. Jahns started his career by becoming one of the industry’s youngest General Managers, at just 28, of the 500-bedroom Silahis International Hotel in Manila. Since then, he has held a number of Senior and General Managerial positions with Shangri-La, Intercontinental and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, while picking up the award for General Manager of the year with Ramada International Hotels in 1989.

Alain Beaumont has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Best Western Premier Amaranth

Beaumont joins the Best Western team with 23 years of experience in sales and marketing. He has been in the hospitality industry since 1981 and has worked in numerous assignments overseas in the United Kingdom, France and Germany.In his new role, Beaumont’s responsibilities include developing marketing programs, implementing sales strategies and revenue management. Beaumont has a master degree in tourism and hospitality management from Paris Sorbonne University. Best Western Premier Amaranth is scheduled to open in March 2009. It offers 278 Deluxe and suite rooms, conference facilities, business center, all-day dining restaurants, lobby bar, fitness center and spa.
