Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed André Brulhart as the new General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay.A Swiss national with three decades of hospitality management experience, André has worked with a series of leading brands. He has also spent more than 20 years in Thailand, heading up popular hotels and resorts in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya.Fluent in German, French and English, André is a graduate of the prestigious Swiss hotel school, École Hôtelière de Lausanne. Having completed his management training with Mandarin Oriental, he entered the hospitality industry with Hilton, working at hotels in Hong Kong, Hawaii and Indonesia.André later held senior management roles at leading Thai hotels including The Regent Bangkok, The Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, Plaza Athénée Bangkok and Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club, prior to joining Centara in 2005 at the then Sofitel Centara Grand CentralPlaza Bangkok. He also spent time in Vietnam with the famed Sofitel Metropole Hanoi.André's impressive career now enters an exciting new chapter as he moves to the Philippines to become GM of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay. Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jose Alberto Ocasio to steer the launch of Mövenpick Resort Boracay in July this year. Ocasio started his hospitality career with The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in the US, beginning as a front desk agent/night relief manager. He worked his way up the ranks, holding various positions at three other Ritz-Carlton hotels, including in Philadelphia and Bahrain. He also held general manager positions at Banyan Tree Club & Spa, Seoul, Banyan Tree Hotel and Resorts/Angsana Velavaru, the Maldives, and Banyan Tree Hotel and Resorts/Angsana Laguna Phuket, Thailand. The 333-room Mövenpick Resort Boracay, which sits on Punta Bunga Beach, is the second Mövenpick-branded property in the Philippines. It comprises a village community-style cluster of nine low-rise buildings set in a natural environment and around a multi-level lagoon pool. Facilities include eight restaurants, a Kids Club, a wellness centre and the Mövenpick's Beach Club.
Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 10 August 2015: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has secured its own piece of paradise in one of Asia's most exclusive holiday destinations, having signed a deal to manage the Sol Marina Resort, which will soon be renamed Mövenpick Resort Boracay, in the Philippines.Located in the north west of the island on idyllic Punta Bunga Beach, famed for its white powdery sand and aquamarine waters and considered one of Asia's luxury resort hotspots, the upscale 333-key property will start welcoming guests in December 2015.The property will not only shore up Mövenpick's presence in the Philippines, where it already manages Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, but also bolster the hospitality firm's portfolio of resort properties in top Asian locations. Best Western International will soon open a hotel in Boracay, Philippines, a top worldwide tourist destination in the country. The Best Western Boracay Tropics is located in the middle of Boat Station 2, where most of the entertainment is. It is also only a few-minute walk to the famous white-sand beach.
