Scandic to open new conference hotel in Copenhagen in 2018

Scandic Hotels, the largest hotel operator in the Nordics, has signed a lease agreement with ATP to take over the operation of one of Copenhagen's most popular hotels and conference centers – the existing Radisson Blu Falconer – from October 1, 2018. The hotel is strategically located in the district of Frederiksberg in central Copenhagen and among other services offers a conference center that accommodates events for up to 3,000 people. In connection with the takeover, the hotel will change name to Scandic Falconer.

Scandic to open a large international hotel in Kødbyen, Denmark

Experts predict that hotels, hit hard by the recession, will suffer longer than other industries A double whammy of recession and excess capacity has up to a third of the city’s hotels in danger of going under in the coming years, reports Berlingske Tidende newspaper. In addition, half of the 422 hotels reviewed by credit analysis firm Soliditet for the newspaper posted a loss in their last fiscal year.
