The season gets underway in Davos

The winter season in Davos is up and running. The Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère will be reopening for business on 7 January 2022 and has two exciting offers in store for its guests. "The Sky is the Limit" package will allow holidaymakers to combine a two-night stay including breakfast with a truly breathtaking paragliding flight over Davos. This deal also includes a cheese fondue dinner and an express sports massage. The "MouCuiWay" is a deluxe package for all those who are merely seeking to switch off and pursue a culinary adventure. In this case, special half-board stays are available for between 2 and 4 nights. The highlights comprise a Swiss evening featuring fondue together with a starter and dessert, an Italian-style dinner at which a 'Dolce Vita' 3-course menu will be served and a Spanish experience complete with six mixed tapas and a wine pairing. There is also a "European Journey", which involves an international 4-course menu. An afternoon English high tea is also included. A 50-minute deep relaxation massage session and an express facial will also both ensure that guests are able to unwind.

Hans-Rudolf Rütti has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

Steigenberger Hotels AG has confirmed the appointment of Hans-Rudolf Rütti as new General Manager of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère with effect from 1 November 2021. Mr. Rütti was born in Switzerland and is held in high esteem internationally as a hotelier. He is able to look back on 30 years of experience, particularly in areas connected with the strategic positioning and repositioning of prestigious hotel properties. High points of his career thus far have included the opening of the legendary Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, the repositioning of the Hotel Intercontinental in Bucharest and the realignment of the 7132 Hotel in Vals. Hans-Rudolf Rütti has also been successfully managing various sustainability projects in the NGO sector for several years.

Legendary Belvédère To Reopen

Everything is geared up for a winter season steeped in tradition. The Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère, the mainstay of the well-known Swiss resort of Davos, will open its doors for business again on 11 December 2020. There is a strong sense of excitement amongst staff members, especially as the enforced closure has also been used to carry out renovation works and to draw up comprehensive hygiene measures in order to allow guests to experience a luxurious five-star holiday in one of the world's most legendary hotels despite restrictions to some services. The hotel has set aside space to display numerous works by Hans E. Deutsch, a pioneer of abstract art. Cultural enthusiasts will be able to admire this exhibition from day one of the reopening. A finely tuned festive programme has also been designed to keep guests entertained over Christmas.

Hard Rock Hotels takes wellness tourism to new heights in Swiss Alps

The first of its kind, the three-day Rock Om® Retreat is a twist on the typical yoga retreat with immersive programming and music-infused yoga practice, set against the backdrop of the captivating sunlit mountaintops. Hard Rock About to Rock the Alps with new Hard Rock Hotel Davos

With presence in more than 70 countries across the globe, Hard Rock International is expanding its hotel portfolio to the Swiss Alps, announcing plans to open Hard Rock Hotel Davos. Working in collaboration with International Hospitality Service AG ("IHS"), the owner of Spenglers Hotel and Holsboer Residences in Davos, Hard Rock will electrify the region in December 2017. VIYM, a private equity firm with extensive expertise in the hospitality industry, consulted IHS on the deal. Transforming the 130-year-old building, which houses the recently renovated Spenglers Hotel Davos with a new spa and soft design touches, Hard Rock Hotel Davos will give tribute to the building"s rich history of honoring Dr. Alexander Spengler and Willem Jan Holsboer – both pioneers in their respective fields. As Davos became famous for the medical benefits its high altitude climate provided, Dr. Spengler was the first person to open a people"s sanatorium, while Holsboer developed the plans for the railway line to Davos. Recently renovated last year, the historic luxury boutique hotel will further continue its modern conversion by evolving into a music-inspired city escape with priceless memorabilia adorning the walls of the property, curated by a team of design experts to fit the local music scene while reflecting the region"s art, style and culture.

Tina Heide has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

Tina Heide will take up the reins at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère in Davos with effect from 1 July. She will succeed Thomas Kleber, who is leaving the company. Ms. Heide has been employed at the hotel for over five years. During this period, she has already held several leadership positions, including that of Deputy Hotel Director. She is currently Hotel Manager. This means that she is familiar with the hotel and its staff and also has experience of its most important event, the annual World Economic Forum. Ms. Heide previously worked for series of international hotel companies, such as Kempinski, Hilton and Radisson Blu.

Thomas Kleber has been appointed as GM and Area General Manager Switzerland at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

Thomas Kleber completed a two-year training course at the Steigenberger Academy in Bad Reichenhall and went on to achieve a Masters degree in Hotel Management. Mr. Kleber can look back on more than 30 years of experience and international expertise in the hotel business. He has occupied senior management positions in such countries as Germany, France, Austria and the USA until he settled down in Switzerland with his family many years ago.
