Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Worldwide's (NYSE: HLT) upscale global brand of hotels, today announced the opening ofHilton Garden Inn Foshan. Owned by Foshan Nanhai Environmental Engineering Co. Ltd. and managed by Hilton Worldwide, Hilton Garden Inn Foshan brings 236 new rooms to the Hilton Garden Inn brand of more than 675 hotels worldwide. Hilton Garden Inn Foshan is the brand's first hotel in Foshan.

Kam brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to this position, most recently joining the property from Wanda Vista Dongguan & Wanda Realm Guangzhou Zengcheng as director of sales & marketing. Over the span of his career, Kam has held progressive positions at leading hospitality brands throughout China.

The management contract signing ceremony for the hotel sector of Shui On Land's integrated commercial and residential complex was held yesterday. Marco Polo Hotels will manage and operate the Foshan Lingnan Tiandi Hotel & Residence and it is scheduled to open its door at the fourth quarter of 2011. Mr Freddie Lee, Managing Director of Shui On Land and Mr Steve Kleinschmidt, President of Marco Polo Hotels were present to sign the contract.
Taking over the reigns from Torsten at Swissôtel Foshan will be Jackson Wong who comes to the property from The Garden Hotel, Guangzhou where he held the position of Assistant General Manager. Prior to this, he was General Manager Sales & Marketing at LNH Hospitality in Guangzhou. A Canadian national, Jackson has worked in several countries including Hong Kong, Canada, Australia and China. He began his career in 1982 at Holiday Inn Golden Mile, Hong Kong and has since, accumulated a wealth of experience in hospitality as well as sales and marketing. 20 years of his 28-year career have been in executive positions in five star deluxe properties. His recent tenures have been senior management positions with Mirage Hotel in Urumqi, Xinjiang, the Intercontinental in Shenyang and Beijing Marriot Hotel West. The 234-room Swissôtel Foshan is one of four Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts’ properties in China. It joins Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Centre which was the Swiss hospitality pioneer’s first property in China, Swissôtel Kunshan and Swissôtel Grand Shanghai, which also opened in 2008.
