InterContinental Kiev announces the appointment of Jean Baptiste Pigeon as new General Manager. Jean Baptiste joined InterContinental Group (IHG) in 1983. He undertook his first appointment as General Manager in 1996 at the Europa InterContinental Brussels. Since then he had several other key General Manager positions including the InterContinental Beirut, InterContinental Regency Bahrain and the InterContinental Yokohama Grand Japan. More recently he has successfully managed the pre-opening phases and post opening management of the Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa being the largest Jordan’s hotel by the number of rooms. Other career highlights include managing the third largest revenue generating hotel in IHG’s portfolio at that time - the InterContinental Yokohama Grand Japan.
Marriott International to Open First Hotel in Ukraine
Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced that it will open its first hotel in Ukraine, the 173-room Renaissance Kiev Hotel, under a management agreement with Subsidiary Enterprise Grand Plaza. The hotel is expected to open in mid-2013 following an extension and renovation of the existing historic building formerly known as the Leipzig Hotel.
