Jesper Vilsoe has been named General Manager at Swissôtel Kunshan

Jesper Vilsoe has been promoted to general manager of Swissôtel Kunshan. Previously the executive assistant manager of the property, he will now be responsible for the overall operations, performance and strategic direction of the hotel. Vilsoe embarked on his food & beverage career after graduation in 1995, where he has held progressive positions in locations such as Romania, Vietnam, London, Jakarta, Warsaw and Kuwait. His philosophy in life is to live like there is no tomorrow and to give 100 percent of himself every single day to guests, staff and owners.

Hoon Namgoong has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at The Fairmont Yangcheng Lake

HOON NAMGOONG is appointed as Director, Food and Beverage, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake. Hoon brings over 14 years experience to this position. He joined our Company in 1997 at The Fairmont Royal York where he held a series of progressive positions, including Night Auditor; Front Desk Agent; Assistant F&B Manager – Banquets in 2002; Assistant F&B Manager - Benihana Japanese Steakhouse in 2004; and Acting Manager of Epic Restaurant / Lounge in 2005. Hoon transferred to The Fairmont Banff Springs in 2006 as Food & Beverage Manager / Sales and in 2008 he was appointed to his most recent position as Food & Beverage Manager, The Fairmont Waterfront. Hoon holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Hospitality and Tourism and a Minor Degree in Human Resources from Ryerson University in Toronto, as well as a Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management with Honors from Humber College, Toronto. Hoon was awarded twice as Star of the Month at The Fairmont Royal York and once as Leader of the Month at The Fairmont Waterfront.

Karina Davies has been appointed as Director, Sales & Marketing at Fairmont Yangcheng Lake

Karina brings a wealth of knowledge, with over 27 years of hospitality experience, to this position, beginning her career in 1984 at The Fairmont Banff Springs. Between 1984 and 2000, she held a series of positions within the company, including Director of Sales & Marketing, The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. In 2000 Karina was appointed Director, Sales & Marketing, The Fairmont Vancouver Airport and held that position until 2003 when she transferred to The Fairmont Waterfront as Director, Sales & Marketing. In 2008 Karina transferred to Fairmont Singapore and Swissotel The Stamford in her most recent position as Director, Sales & Marketing.

Nicolas Verdun has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Swissôtel Kunshan

A French native, Nicolas Verdun has more than six years senior management experience in Food & Beverage in China. He began his career in Sofitel Nice, France. Earlier in 2003, as part of the pre-opening team, he joined Novotel Oasis Resort Beijing and worked there for more than two years. After more than one year pre-opening experience with Kempinski N’Djamena, Chad, Nicolas returned to China and worked at the Novotel Xinhua Wuhan. Most recently, Nicolas was with Sofitel Suzhou as Director of Food and Beverage. Nicolas Verdun holds a Masters Degree in Business of Hospitality Management, with an outstanding record in a series of competitions, such as 2nd place in the XIII European Cup Georges Baptiste in Valdepenas, Spain and 1st place in the French National Cooking Competition, Marketing and Cuisine “CAMPUS 2001” in Paris.
