Choice Hotels Welcomes Third Cambria In South Carolina

Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), announced the opening of its third hotel in South Carolina, just miles from the state line in a rapidly growing submarket of Charlotte, North Carolina. The four-story, 127-room Cambria Hotel Fort Mill joins the Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview and the Cambria Hotel Mount Pleasant in the state. The hotel opens amid a strong year for the upscale Cambria brand in which six hotels have already opened their doors, with up to seven more hotels representing over 1,100 rooms expected to open in top-tier markets across the country before the year's end.

Choice Hotels to Develop New Cambria Hotel in Fort Mill, S.C.

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world's largest hotel companies, signed an agreement with York Investment Properties, LLC, to develop a new Cambria hotel in Fort Mill, S.C. The 124-room property will be located within the company's mixed-use development site, which includes an apartment complex, planned retail center and proposed office space. The address is 335 Armistead Lane.

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) (www.hotelequities.com) recently named Kevin Butler the General Manager for the 108-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lake Charles, LA. Mr. Butler has responsibility for overseeing all facets of the hotel’s operations including hiring associates, meeting budget goals and leading the team to deliver excellent results. He also leads the hotel’s efforts to get involved and give back to the community.With more than 20 years in hospitality, Mr. Butler came to Lake Charles from Kayenta, Arizona where he served as General Manager of a Hampton Inn. Previous positions in the industry include General Manager of the SpringHill Suites Chandler, Arizona and Area Operations Manager for the Extended Stay Hotels in Phoenix, Arizona.

Geno M. Iafrate has been named SVP and General Manager at L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort

Iafrate is an accomplished industry executive who has served in a variety of gaming and hospitality management positions across several regional and major gaming markets over the past twelve years. Most recently he served as the senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's Entertainment's northwest Louisiana operations, including the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel and Louisiana Downs, both located in Bossier City, Louisiana. Previous positions include vice president and assistant general manager at Harrah's Entertainment's Flamingo Las Vegas and Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and the Grand Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. Iafrate also held positions at Harrah's in Tunica, Mississippi and as a member of the Harrah's Entertainment Central Division team. Iafrate holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from West Virginia University.
