He will take over the helm from Prof. Michel Rochat after his departure. Markus Venzin is an expert on growth strategies with a focus on innovation and corporate entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Switzerland where he obtained his PhD in Strategy and Organization at the Universität St.Gallen (HSG), he is currently Professor of Global Strategy and Dean of Innovation at Università Bocconi in Milan. Markus Venzin combined a solid academic experience and business acumen, but he also demonstrated the personal leadership strengths to carry out the future vision of our Group. His strong reputation for collaborative, people-focused management, entrepreneurial mindset and strategic vision will surely be an asset for our future. Tania Micki has joined the Board of Directors of EHL Holding SA and the Board of Trustees of the EHL Foundation as a new member. As a finance specialist, Micki has held leading positions in various internationally active companies for many years. Tania Micki has begun her duties on December 4th as a new member of the EHL Foundation and as an appointed member of the Board of Directors of EHL Holding SA. The finance expert has extensive professional experience in global companies, heading departments with revenues of up to 2.5 billion Swiss francs. In her various financial functions, she has led strategic business and financial market transformations as well as acquisitions. Currently Group CFO of Tecan Group AG, a publicly listed life sciences and diagnostics company, Micki speaks six languages, holds a Master's degree in finance from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce of Paris as well as an MBA from INSEAD. Before taking up her position at Tecan, Micki was Chief Risk Officer and Group Internal Audit Head at Sulzer AG, Vice President Finance, Planning and Analysis Europe at Gate Group and Senior Manager at General Mills.

In early October, EHL held its 2020 Sustainability Week, which had been postponed due to the Coronavirus lockdown in March. The events held throughout the week were organized in collaboration with a cross-functional project team (volunteer staff members & students) and were available both online and offline in order to allow student and staff to participate no matter their location, and on our three campuses: Passugg, Singapore and Lausanne. Indeed, both Singapore and Passugg organized online panels, respectively on Sustainability in Tourism and The Zero Waste Philosophy.
It's been a busy and unique start to the new school year here at EHL for many reasons, mostly to do with the implementation of innovative teaching methods such as HyFlex and adapting to the necessary global changes. Much to my delight and satisfaction, we have recently become the recipients of two prestigious awards in terms of employer certification. Bilan magazine, (for the 3rd year running), has nominated us as "Best Employers" in Switzerland in their education category with regards to best practices in human resources in French-speaking Switzerland. Whereas the Great Place to Work organization has certified us as indeed a great place to work.
Global warming is an issue that the world has been facing for years, and time is running out. Every action we take has an impact on the environment and it is our responsibility to implement sustainable practices into our lives and into our campus.
