Marriott International signs landmark deal to open World’s Largest Fairfield By Marriott Hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia

Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) announced that it has signed a landmark agreement with Nahdet Al-Mashaer to open a 2,600-room Fairfield by Marriott property in Makkah. The agreement is expected to deliver the first Fairfield by Marriott property to the Middle East and Africa region, create the largest Fairfield hotel in the world and bring one of the largest hotels to the growing religious destination of Makkah. Construction for the Fairfield by Marriott Makkah Al Naseem has already commenced and the hotel is slated to open in 2023.

IHG signs world's largest voco with Maad International in Saudi Arabia

IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world's leading hotel companies, is continuing to expand its footprint across Saudi Arabia with the signing of voco Makkah in partnership with Maad International, among the Kingdom's largest hospitality real estate development companies. The property will be the largest voco in the world, when operational in early 2020, and it will cater to the growing number of religious tourists in KSA. The 4,200-room hotel will take IHG's portfolio in the country to over 19,500 rooms, solidifying IHG's position as one of the largest hospitality players in Saudi Arabia.

Saad Khayat has been appointed as General Manager at Makkah Millennium Hotel & Towers

MAKKAH Millennium Hotel and Towers, the luxury hotel serving the pilgrims coming to Makkah and located directly over the Holy Haram Piazza, announced the appointment of Saad Khayat as the Hotel and Towers' new Cluster General Manager.Saad has over 25 years of experience in business and hospitality which have taken him to multiple properties in Makkah. Prior to this appointment, he was the general manager at Sheraton Jabal Al Kaaba Makkah hotel.He started his illustrious career in Sales & Banquet Sales at Le Meridien Hotel, Jeddah. He also worked as the Area Director of Sales and Marketing at the Intercontinental Hotel, Jeddah in 2010 for a period of five years, and was appointed Group Director of Sales & Marketing with the Cluster Property, i.e. Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel; Raffles Makkah Palace and Swissotel Makkah until 2014, and moved to Choice Hotel International as Director of Business Development in 2017.

Millennium signs two iconic hotels in Makkah

Millennium Hotels and Resorts is continuing with its successful expansion strategy across Saudi Arabia by announcing the takeover of two landmark hotels in the Holy City of Makkah. Following the signing of a management agreement with Makkah Construction & Development Company, the Group will operate Makkah Millennium Hotel and Makkah Millennium Towers, under the global flagship of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Middle East and Africa with the agreement coming into effect by 1st September 2017. The move solidifies the Group"s position as one of the fastest growing operators in the Kingdom, ensuring it comfortably meets its target to open over 20 hotels in Saudi Arabia within the next four years.
