AccorHotels has confirmed the 38-villa Raffles resort in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll of Maldives will open on 01 February 2019. Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is located at the southern end of the Maldives archipelago, near the equator on the Gaafu Alifu Atoll. The resort is accessible by domestic flight, 55 minutes from Male International Airport followed by 15-minute speedboat ride from Kaadedhdhoo Airport.
Jumeirah Dhevanafushi has appointed Aldo Cadau as the new Executive Chef. Aldo will run the resort's three restaurants Azara, Johara and Mumayaz Beach in addition to the in villa dining, ensuring consistent high quality food and service. A passionate and enthusiastic chef, Aldo will draw on his experiences from around the world. He will focus on producing contemporary Mediterranean classics in harmony with the spices, flavors and rich tradition of the Indian Ocean to create dining experiences and lasting memories.
An experienced hospitality professional, Firas brings strong leadership and management skills to his new role. During his career, he has worked in managerial positions for a number of hospitality companies including Jumeirah Group, Shangri La and the Address in Dubai.
David Stepetic has been appointed as the new General Manager of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, taking over from Chris Ely who has returned to Dubai to embark on the role of Hotel Manager at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
Chris, a British national, joined Jumeirah in 2005 working in Sports & Leisure for various hotels and resorts in Dubai. In 2007, he was promoted to a Director’s role with Jumeirah’s Development team, working on several projects in Dubai. Then, in 2010, he was the first Jumeirah colleague to join the pre-opening team of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi as Director of Operations, overseeing Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Engineering and Housekeeping.
