Scheduled to open its doors in Q2 2026, the upscale hotel will bring the group's Swiss Professionalism and Asian Passion and international standards to one of Oman's most historic and culturally rich destinations.
IHG Hotels & Resorts debuts its first Hotel Indigo resort in the Middle East with the opening of Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa. Jabal Akhdar, meaning "Green Mountain" in Arabic, is a majestic range in Oman known for its stunning landscapes and cooler climate. Famed for terraced gardens, ancient villages, and dramatic canyons, the new Hotel Indigo resort is nestled 2,000 metres above sea level, featuring 173 beautifully designed rooms, suites, and chalets, each offering majestic views of the neighbouring mountains.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed that James Reeves will take the role of general manager at their newly unveiled property, the Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa. Situated at an elevation of 2000 meters on Oman's Jabal Akhdar, this marks the debut of IHG's boutique lifestyle resort in the area. The resort, perched on the slopes of the Green Mountain, offers 173 rooms, suites, and chalets, each providing breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. The hotel is set to welcome its first guests starting September 1.
Anees Shinnara officially became General Manager of the IntercityHotel Nizwa on 15 August 2020, the opening date. The hotel is situated in the oasis city of Nizwa at the edge of the Hadschar mountain range, and 45-year old Mr. Shinnara had previously successfully guided it through the pre-opening phase. Anees Shinnara has worked for Deutsche Hospitality since 2016. He is responsible for the IntercityHotel brand's two presences in Nizwa und Salalah in his capacity as Area General Manager for Oman.
Deutsche Hospitality is robustly pursuing its course of expansion and has signed a further agreement for a hotel in Oman. A 120-room three-star IntercityHotel is scheduled to open in Nizwa by 2019. The hotel, which will offer event spaces, a spa complete with gym area, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar, will be operated via a management agreement. The contractual partner will be the Nizwa Integrated Real Estate Company ("NIREC"), Sultanate of Oman.
