Rimap Hospitality Expands Footprint In Ottawa

RIMAP Hospitality, a Montreal-based operator of premium branded hotels in Quebec and Ontario, today announced it has signed an agreement with Marriott International to add to its growing portfolio of Ottawa hotels with the addition of the Renaissance Hotel Downtown Ottawa. Located at the corner of Bay and Slater Street, steps from the Lyon LRT Station and Parliament Hill, the project will occupy one of the remaining developable areas in the downtown core.

RIMAP Hospitality to Bring Moxy Hotels To Canada’s Capital Ottawa

Following the announcement of the Moxy Montreal hotel signing, RIMAP Hospitality announced today it has signed another agreement with Marriott International to bring a 222-room Moxy hotel to Ottawa. The hotel will be aptly located in downtown Ottawa's Byward Market, an area located east of the government and business district, buzzing with retail and entertainment. Moxy Ottawa is slated to open in 2024 and will be just steps away from RIMAP's AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa property - announced in 2019 and currently under construction.

The Second AC Hotel Located in Canada is Expected to Open in Summer 2022

Rimap Hospitality headquartered in Montreal, today announced it has signed a contract with Marriott International to debut the company's design-driven AC Hotels by Marriott brand in Ottawa with a 208-room hotel. The hotel will sit ideally between Byward Market and the Rideau Centre, close to Parliament hill and the University of Ottawa, an area that is home to a growing number of offices, residences, theaters and restaurants. Expected to open in the summer of 2022, the AC Hotel Ottawa will offer business and leisure travelers alike a thoughtful approach to design as well as intuitive, frictionless guest service.

Geoffrey Morden has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Westin Ottawa

The Westin Ottawa is excited to announce the arrival of their new Executive Chef, Geoffrey Morden. With 18 years of experience working with culinary teams at Fairmont properties and 14 years of experience as an Executive Chef, Geoffrey was also part of the opening team for one of Ottawa’s largest kitchens at Shaw Centre. In his position as Executive Chef, Geoffrey will be leading the culinary team in providing 350,000 banquet and catering covers per year throughout The Westin Ottawa’s 47,200 square feet of meeting space, as well at the hotel’s 24-Hour Room Service.

Jean-Philip Dupré has been appointed as General Manager at Alt Hotel Ottawa

Jean Philip Dupré has been named General Manager of Alt Hotel Ottawa. He joined Group Germain Hotels in 2015 as director of Housekeeping at Alt Hotel Winnipeg and has since held positions as director of Rooms, Alt Hotel Winnipeg; director of Operations, Alt Hotel Ottawa; and Business Development manager at Alt Hotel Winnipeg. Upon taking the helm of Alt Hotel Ottawa in April, the 27-year-old became Group Germain’s youngest General Manager.

Julie Brisebois has been appointed as General Manager at Alt Hotel Ottawa

Christiane Germain, co-president of Group Germain Hotels today announces the appointment of Julie Brisebois as General Manager of Alt Hotel Ottawa, which will open in spring 2016, and Marie Pier Germain as General Manager of Alt Hotel Montreal, which opened in 2014. Motivated by her passion for customer service, it was a career change that led Julie Brisebois to the hospitality industry in 2004. She first made her debut at Le Germain Hotel Montreal before taking the helm of operations and then the general management of Alt Hotel Dix30 in Brossard, and more recently Alt Hotel Montreal. Today, her management and her experience of over ten years with Group Germain Hotels make her the perfect person to give life to the new Alt Hotel Ottawa. Marie Pier Germain has been entrusted to succeed Julie Brisebois with the general management of Alt Hotel Montreal. A graduate of Queen's University in Mechanical Engineering and with an innate sense for the client’s experience, Marie Pier joined the family business in 2006. During her journey, she has managed teams of architects, designers and engineers in charge of the construction and renovation of the Group's hotels, and until recently directed operations at Alt Hotel Montreal. At the same time, Marie Pier Germain also received her EMBA degree from McGill-HEC Montreal.

Zubair Siddiqi has been appointed as General Manager of Delta Ottawa City Centre®. Zubair's career with Delta spans many years with his most recent tenure as General Manager at Delta Prince Edward®.
