Tribute Portfolio Introduces Charming New Hotel to Savannah’s Historic Waterfront with The Alida

Tribute Portfolio, Marriott International's newest collection of independent, characterful hotels, together with Rockbridge and Makeready, has further expanded its portfolio with the recent addition of The Alida Hotel in Savannah, Georgia. As the brand's second hotel in Georgia, The Alida joins modern design with timeless Southern charm, ideally located on Savannah's revitalized riverfront. Designed by Gunn Meyerhoff Shay Architects, the boutique hotel was named after Alida Harper Fowlkes, a celebrated local entrepreneur who worked tirelessly to preserve the cities heritage. Like the city itself, the 173-room hotel celebrates the colorful locale through custom creations, original designs and local craftwork - giving each guestroom a personality of its own. The hotel is also home to three on-site restaurant and bar concepts, including Rhett, an all-day kitchen serving quintessential Southern fare; The Trade Room, a bar featuring local brews and spirits; and The Lost Square, an outdoor living room located atop the hotel.

Rockbridge Announces The Alida Hotel Now Open On Savannah’s Historic Waterfront

Rockbridge is pleased to announce today's opening of The Alida in Savannah, Georgia. The 173-room hotel is positioned along the historic Savannah River Street in the warehouse district. Bordered by breweries, distilleries and some of the city's best shopping, The Alida offers three restaurant and bar concepts, including a rooftop bar; Keep Shop, a signature retail concept; a year-round, heated and chilled salt water pool; and a design aesthetic highlighted by oversized windows.

Ted Knighton has been appointed as General Manager at The Alida, part of Tribute Portfolio

Knighton joins The Alida from sister property Noelle, where he supported the Rockbridge and MAKEREADY project as General Manager for its December 2017 opening. Prior to joining MAKEREADY, Knighton was Assistant General Manager in the opening of Two Roads Hospitality hotel the Thompson Seattle, as well as the task force opening leader for the Thompson Nashville. Additionally, Knighton's more than a decade of hospitality experience includes positions with Kimpton Hotels and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Knighton graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor's Degree in International Hospitality Management and an Associate's Degree in Resort Management.

Teresa Manzolillo has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Alida, part of Tribute Portfolio

Teresa Manzolillo brings more than two decades of sales and hospitality experience to her role as the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Alida. Prior to joining The Alida, Manzolillo spent more than eight years at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa, where she most recently served as the Director of Sales and Marketing. In addition to the Hilton Head Marriott, Manzolillo played an influential role in driving sales at leading hotels in the region such as Hilton Head Marriott Beach & Golf Resort and The Westin Resort, Hilton Head Island. Manzolillo graduated from Central Pennsylvania College with an Associate's Degree in Specialized Business and majored in Hotel and Motel Management.

Sarah Menard has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Andaz Savannah

Menard has spent her entire career in Savannah and with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. She arrived at Andaz Savannah from Hyatt Regency Savannah, where over a 19-year run she advanced through sales-related positions including Convention Services Manager, Group Sales Manager, and Business Sales Manager, before becoming E-Commerce, Marketing and Business Travel Sales Manager.

Amir Blattner has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Savannah

Hyatt Regency Savannah announces Amir Blattner as its general manager. In this role, Blattner is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the 351-room hotel. Blattner began his hospitality career with Hyatt in 1995 as a PBX Operator at Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, where he discovered his passion for customer service. He was quickly recruited as a Corporate Management Trainee at Hyatt Regency Miami in 1997. Throughout his career, Blattner has held several Rooms Division roles in nine Hyatt hotels including Director of Rooms position at Hyatt Regency Dearborn, Grand Hyatt Washington, Hyatt Regency Chicago and Hyatt Regency Baltimore, where he earned the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Director of Rooms Award in 2011. Most recently, Blattner served as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant announces new boutique hotel, The Brice, to open May 2014

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced it has hit the 50 percent completion mark on construction of its soon-to-open hotel, The Brice, located in the historic city of Savannah, Georgia. Originally constructed in 1860, The Brice is scheduled to open in May 2014 and will pay homage to the building's rich history while keeping Kimpton's distinctly relaxed, yet sophisticated twist, on the modern contemporary hotel. .

Geir Kilen has been appointed as Executive Chef at Mansion on Forsyth Park

Chef Kilen joins 700 Drayton Restaurant from his most recent position as the executive chef of The Commerce Club in Atlanta, Ga., where he brought a “diverse, culinary fare” according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Kilen was also responsible for the opening of the Palm Beach Restaurant, a successful Caribbean-style restaurant in the Atlanta suburbs, which he owned and served as general manager and executive chef for three years. Additionally, Kilen has served as executive chef in several notable Atlanta, Ga. establishments including, The Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center Hotel, Bold American Food Company, Emory Conference Center Hotel and Marriot International. His portfolio boasts a number of awards and accolades including, a Silver Medal in the US Chefs Open in 1991, as well as achieving highest banquet-guest, comment card score of all Hilton hotels in the Continental US, beating world famous properties such as the Waldorf Astoria and Beverly Hilton. Before arriving in the United States, Chef Kilen received a culinary degree from The Culinary Institute in his hometown of Kristiansand, Norway, in addition to a certification in Business Management from Kristiansand Handels Skole.
