Haytham Aziz has been appointed as General Manager at Coral Beach Resort Sharjah

HMH – Hospitality Management Holding has announced the promotion of Haytham Aziz to General Manager of Coral Beach Resort Sharjah. Aziz joined the HMH group in 2014 as Executive Assistant Manager at Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel before being promoted to the position of Hotel Manager at Coral Beach Resort Sharjah in 2015. Making the announcement, Ferghal Purcell, COO of HMH, said, Aziz is a great asset for our company. He has done a tremendous job in repositioning Coral Beach Resort Sharjah as a market leader despite stiff competition and challenging market conditions. I wish him all the success in this new and exciting stage of his career.” Holding a Bachelor’s degree in law from Helwan University in Cairo, Aziz has over 17 years’ outstanding experience in the hospitality industry. He joined the Starwood Hotels and Resorts in 2003 where he spent over a decade working his way up with the various brands in the group.

Ghassan Farhat has been appointed as Hotel Manager at TIME Ruby Hotel Apartments Sharjah

Farhat, a 23-year Dubai hospitality veteran, began his career in the UAE in 1992 as the front office manager of Al Khaleej Palace Hotel. He climbed the career ladder moving into sales with key positions at a number of Dubai properties, before transitioning into executive assistant manager level roles. In his new position as hotel manager for TIME Ruby Hotel Apartments Sharjah, he is responsible for developing TIME Ruby Hotel Apartments’ position as a leading midscale destination in the emirate. A Lebanese national, Farhat is a US-certified hotel and restaurant diploma holder.

Ahmed Freiwan has been appointed as Rooms Division Manager at Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah

Freiwan, a Jordan national has a wealth of experience with more than 16 years in the hotel industry. He worked in various positions for different properties within the Rezidor Hotel Group in Jordan, Muscat, Iran, Dubai, Lebanon and held the same position at Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah in 2012. Later he moved to Kuwait to take up the position of rooms division manager at Missoni Hotel, Kuwait. In his current role, Freiwan will be in charge of overseeing the Front Office, Housekeeping and ensuring smooth running of the day-to-day operations of these departments at the hotel. Owing to his outgoing personality, he easily blends with the environment and contributes in shaping the Radisson Blu brand service attitude of 'Yes, I Can' with friendly, helping hand.

Paolo Fetz has been appointed as General Manager at Oceanic Resort & Spa Khorfakkan

Sharjah National Hotels has appointed Paolo Fetz as general manger for Oceanic Resort & Spa Khorfakkan, which is planned to be re-launched in April 2013. Fetz brings 25 years of international management experience in luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Before moving to the UAE, Fetz worked in Royal Wing Pattaya, Thailand, Palmeraie Golf Palace Marrakech, Morocco, Siam City Hotel Bangkok, Thailand, The Residence Tunis Tunisia and The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem. In his new role, Paolo will lead the pre-opening team and will be responsible for the overall operation for Oceanic Resort & Spa Khorfakan in Sharjah.

Duco Everen de Vries has been appointed as Business Development Director MENA Region at Golden Tulip Hospitality Group

A Dutch national, Duco brings to his new role over 19 years of international luxury hospitality experience having held senior management positions in international hotel chains such as Hilton, Best Western, Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotel Group. Duco holds a Certificate in Hotel Operations and a Master’s Degree in Hotel Management from IHTTI School of Hotel Management Neuchatel, Switzerland. With his diverse management capabilities and in depth knowledge of rebranding, hotel opening and integration, he will take on the role as Business Development Director and contribute significantly to the growth and positioning of Golden Tulip’s Brands – Tulip Inn, Tulip Residences, Golden Tulip and Royal Tulip - within the MENA region. Dar S. Danesh has been appointed as Director of Human Resources and Training MENA Region at Golden Tulip Hospitality Group

A friendly and personable individual, he carries with him 15 years of human resources administration, training competence and talent development expertise, acquired both in the hospitality industry and as a HR and Training Consultant. He is a full corporate member of the Institute of Hospitality and member of Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council. A Canadian hailing from the capital city Ottawa, he graduated from Toronto's Ryerson University in Human Resources Management. He is a professional Trainer and Assessor, plus Co-active Coach, accredited through the Coaches Training Institute, California, USA. He attained a professional Certificate IV Diploma in Assessment and Workplace Training from Australian National Training Authority (Government of Australia Dept. of Education and Development), and accredited through the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia. Currently he is pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Drawing on his experience and openness built through a vast business and social network across various sectors and the hospitality community in the Middle East, he will oversee the HR development and training scope for the Golden Tulip Hospitality Group.
