Global design and engineering firm Stantec celebrated the groundbreaking of the eight-story,174-room AC Hotel by Marriot Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida, located on the grounds of the popular Sawgrass Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the United States. Developed by Norwich Partners, Stantec is the project architect, structural and MEP engineer of record, working in partnership with interior design firm Group One Partners.
Couples Resorts, Jamaica recently appointed Pauline Abatemarco-Pigott to the newly created role of Vice President, North American Sales. Pigott has more than 25 years experience in hospitality sales and has worked on both sides of the equation as a buyer and seller of all-inclusive resort products in the Caribbean. Piggot will lead a salesforce located across North America and focus on expanding and refining travel agent programs that have been the foundation for Couples Resorts' success since inception. She will also work closely with major tour-operators, wholesalers and online travel agencies that feature the Couples Resorts brand in their portfolio of Caribbeanofferings.
