Hotel Equities And Virtua Partners Announce The Grand Opening Of The Courtyard By Marriott In Downtown Winston-salem

Hotel Equities (HE) announced the Courtyard by Marriott Winston-Salem Downtown has officially opened its doors in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The new custom-designed, 126-room hotel is located at 640 West Fourth Street and features a rooftop bar with a view of the West End and historic Winston-Salem skyline. The hotel is owned by global private equity group Virtua Partners and affiliated hotel operators, Hotel Equities. Hotel Equities also provided Development Services for the hotel. General Manager Arnika Addison leads the day-to-day operations of the hotel, serving alongside Director of Sales Kelsey Stafford.

Pipeline: Courtyard by Marriott in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Virtua Partners announced the purchase of a 126-room Courtyard by Marriott under construction in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Hotel Equities will manage the Marriott hotel in downtown Winston-Salem when it opens in Q1 2020. Hotel Equities and Virtua Partners joined forces last year to expand upon their current hospitality portfolio through new development and acquisition opportunities. Hotel Equities is providing development services for the Courtyard through the construction process and will see it through completion.

Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown Opens in Historic Pepper Building, a 1928 Art Deco Landmark

Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown, has officially opened its doors in the historic Pepper Building at Fourth and Liberty Streets, revitalizing a 1928 Winston-Salem art deco landmark and bringing a stylish boutique hotel experience to the city's vibrant arts district. The property, owned by Mayfair Street Partners and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, includes 75 guestrooms, nearly 1,600 square feet of meeting space and the newly-opened Sir Winston, a signature restaurant and wine loft concept specializing in Southern cuisine with a European influence.

Julia Elizabeth “Liza” Edgerton has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel

Edgerton is no newcomer to the hospitality world and brings over a decade of industry experience to her new post at The Cardinal. Edgerton worked at The Charleston Marriott for 10 years, quickly rising in ranks from Executive Meeting Manager to her most recently held position, the Director of Corporate and Group Sales. In this previous role, she spearheaded the property’s sales strategy to grow group and business transient revenue, leading a full sales team to achieve production and budget goals. Prior to her role at The Charleston Marriott, Edgerton also gained valuable experience at The Sanctuary and Kiawah Island Golf Resort as a Conference Concierge where she worked closely with small, short-lead groups and provided support for meeting planners. Edgerton boasts a long list of accolades including a 2012 JHM President’s Council Member Award and a 2012 JHM Sales Culture Leader Award, preceded by a string of notable recognitions from Meetings Professionals International, the Society of Government Meeting Planners, the Religious Conference Management Association, The Junior League of Charleston and the Special Events Committee for St. John’s. Edgerton graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Spanish from the College of Charleston. The Kimpton Cardinal debuted in late April 2016 in the majestic R.J. Reynolds building, centrally located in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem. The hotel features 174 guest rooms, including 15 suites, an expansive fitness center and adult recreation room, a distinctive neighborhood restaurant and bar in The Katharine, and more than 6,300-square-feet of meeting and event spaces.
