Pieter Van Der Hoeven has been promoted to General Manager at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor and Raffles Hotel Le Royal

September 2014 - Pieter Van der Hoeven has been appointed as General Manager at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Siem Reap, extending his existing role as General Manager, Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh. Van der Hoeven will lead the teams at both Raffles hotels in Cambodia, taking responsibility for the overall operations, performance and strategic direction for the hotels. Van der Hoeven joined the Raffles family in Phnom Penh in August 2013 from Outrigger Asia Pacific, where he was Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Asia Pacific. He was previously an Area General Manager with Six Senses Resorts and Spas overseeing Evason and Six Senses Spas, Hua Hin, Evason Hideaway & Earth Spa by Six Senses and Evason Hideaway, Vietnam. Pieter has also held progressive positions with the Peninsula group of hotels in Bangkok and Hong Kong as well as Hyatt Hotels in Australia.

Lloyd Daser has been appointed as General Manager at Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre

A long-serving associate with Pan Pacific Hotels Group for over 30 years, Canadian Lloyd Daser is returning to his home country as General Manager of award-winning ski resorts, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre. Lloyd brings to his new role a wealth of knowledge and experience, having managed both Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL hotels and resorts in Asia and North America. Most recently, he was Area Vice President of Operations, overseeing the Group’s hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Saigon and Yangon.

Janet Chan has been appointed as Assistant Director of Sales at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor

Janet started her career in 1999 at Chung Pak Travel, one of the largest Asian travel agencies before it merged with the Orient Express Travel Group in late 2005. From here, Janet then worked for Accor Reservations Service and Japan Travel Bureau. She moved to Sydney to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World as Events & Relationship Executive before moving up the ranks to Development Executive. From here, Janet was appointed Manager of Brand Development for the Preferred Hotel Group for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Janet moved to Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2010 as Sales & Marketing Manager, before her recent arrival at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor.

Christian Sack has been appointed as General Manager at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor

Mr. Sack, originally from Vienna, is an internationally experienced manager with over 22 years working in five star hotels and resorts. Before joining the Raffles team in Siem Reap, he was Resident Manager at Shangri-La Tokyo. Here his role involved creating and implementing a business recovery plan, following the earthquakes and the tsunami crisis. Prior to Tokyo, he held prominent positions at the Shangri-La Sydney, Australia; Banyan Tree – Angsana Resort & Spa Maldives; Hilton Trafalgar Hotel, London and the Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Gareth Walters has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor and Raffles Hotel Le Royal

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Christian Sack as General Manager of Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap and Gareth Walters as Director of Sales & Marketing for both Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor and Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh. Gareth Walters brings extensive sales and marketing experience to Raffles. During his tenure as Director of Sales for Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, the hotel strongly led the market and secured numerous international awards and prestigious events. Gareth has also held strategic sales positions at The Monarch, Dubai and the Langham Hotel in London.

Peter Foster has been appointed as Area Director of Sales & Marketing at Raffles Hotels & Resorts of Cambodia

Peter will be responsible for all Sales & Marketing activities of Raffles Hotel Le Royal and Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor. Peter has an outstanding track record of Sales and Marketing experience spanning 20 years. Prior to his new appointment, Peter was the Vice President Sales & Marketing for Puravarna Hotels & Resorts and held senior sales and marketing roles with luxury properties such as The Address Hotels & Resorts, One&Only Royal Mirage, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Hayman Island Resorts, Mandarin Oriental and Hotel InterContinental. He also holds a Higher National Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management.
