Tony Mira has been appointed as General Manager at Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort

Tony Mira has been appointed general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica. Mira brings a wealth of experience complemented by a strong leadership background to the position after serving in the hospitality industry for over 32 years. Mira served as general manager at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport in Missouri, the Oakbrook Hotel Chicago, Illinois and The Stouffer Hotel, Battle Creek, Michigan. He joined The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in 2006 as general manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn.

Lisa Gabor has been named Vice President for Creative Strategy at Island Outpost

Journalist Lisa Gabor has been named Vice President for Creative Strategy at Island Outpost, Chris Blackwell’s resort group. Gabor will be responsible for the future of all Island Outpost brand identity as it is expressed though creative direction, strategic alliances, philanthropy, stewardship, corporate communications and business development. Gabor’s first project for Blackwell was the just launched site, goldeneye.com, a new hybrid that blends travel journalism with GoldenEye’s fabled history, and hotel logistics. Gabor brings to Island Outpost a uniquely editorial point of view along with strong commercial know-how. Equal parts entrepreneur and editor, she specializes in start-ups. Gabor was most recently Editor-in-Chief of Black Ink, the American Express quarterly for Centurion Card members, while at the same time serving as Special Projects Editor for Departures. Prior to that, Gabor was the Editor of InStyle.com, where she translated the magazine’s success in print to the online medium. In addition, she was the founding Editor-in-Chief of Fuse Magazine and a founding editor of InStyle Magazine.

Jean-Marc Rousseau has been appointed as General Manager at The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort

The appointment marks a return for Rousseau, who previously held the position of hotel manager at the 524-room all-inclusive resort from 1997 to 2002. Over his 25-year career, Rousseau has served in managerial capacities for some of the world’s top hospitality brands, including Hyatt, Renaissance, Sandals, and SuperClubs. Immediately prior to returning to the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay, Rousseau served as general manager of the 360-room Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He has also held executive hospitality industry positions in Antigua, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. A native of France, Rousseau is a graduate of Lycée Hôtelier.

Island Outpost Breaks Ground At Goldeneye, Jamaica

Island Outpost, a collection of distinctive hotels and villas in Jamaica, began the expansion of its famed GoldenEye resort with an official groundbreaking ceremony held on August 14th, 2009. Entertainment mogul Christ Blackwell; the Honorable Bruce Golding, Prime Minister; the Honorable Daryl Vaz, Minister of Projects and Implementation; and Jason Henzell, president of Island Outpost attended the official ceremony.
