Since a semblance of returning to normal is taking shape, the time seems opportune to summarize this project, taking care to place the Covid-19 crisis in a more general context. The aim is, in particular, to tackle the fundamental problems that affect Swiss wines and to try to identify possible solutions. Five years ago, the future of Swiss winter ski resorts was somewhat dim, after consecutive winter seasons with little to no snow and despite a relatively stable number of tourists. There was a perception at that time that existing resorts would be required to transition into four-season resorts simply to continue to exist. Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced the opening of Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle, the first hotel under the Hyatt Regency brand in Switzerland. The 255-room hotel is located directly at Zurich's brand-new hub The Circle, boasting retail shops, offices, health facilities, and restaurants, all situated on over 44 acres (180,000 square meters) and alongside a nearly 20 acre (80,000 square meter) park with greenery and running paths. Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle will be joined by the planned opening of a Hyatt Place branded hotel at The Circle hub. The Circle Convention Centre is expected to host its first events this spring.

In the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in Geneva, 104 new rooms with a total of 368 beds are being built under the direction of MEININGER Hotels. The location in Switzerland's second largest city occupies an important place in the MEININGER portfolio. After all, Geneva is not only a diplomatic centre but also an international showcase for science. Lake Geneva, the museums and other cultural attractions as well as the hotel's proximity to the Swiss and French Alps should all attract additional visitors.
Its Zurich hotel, with 174 rooms and 582 beds, is being built in the new sustainable Greencity district in the south of the city, not far from the popular recreation areas on the River Sihl. By public transport guests can reach the city centre from the MEININGER Hotel Zurich quickly and in an environmentally friendly way, and there are also two car sharing services in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Greencity is 100 percent powered by renewable energy sources.
