Jérôme Chautard has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at VIE Hotel Bangkok

Chef Jérôme was born and brought up in Bourg en Bresse, near the city of Lyon, whose residents adhere to the belief in not wasting any part of the ingredients they use in their cooking. It’s a philosophy that he has also remained true to, using only top quality ingredients as well as traditional methods of cooking, so that diners not only experience true French cuisine, but the casualness and warmth of eating at a relative’s house. At the age of 16, Chef Jérôme followed his passion for culinary art, cooking first at a restaurant in his hometown, before moving to St. Tropez on the French Riviera, where he spent 15 years working, learning and acquiring a sound understanding of Mediterranean and traditional French dishes. In his 22 years in the culinary industry, he worked at many famous restaurants in France, before moving to Thailand to head the French restaurant, Aubergine. His expertise in Mediterranean and traditional French cuisine made the restaurant extremely popular in the city. He then moved on to the Conrad Hotel Bangkok as Chef de Cuisine.

Michael Tscherne has been appointed as Group Director of Revenue at Ibis Hotels Thailand

Ibis Hotels Thailand has named a number of new executives. Michael Tscherne has been appointed as group director of revenue who will be responsible for a strategic pricing and revenue management. He previously held the leading position as multi-hotel revenue manager for Accor’s Brisbane Hotels. In addition, Ploywadee Dibbayawan has been appointed as group director of sales who will oversee and develop the new sales vision and strategy for ibis Hotels Thailand. She was formerly group director of sales for the Koh Samed Resort Group. Finally, Chutimaporn Kasemsuk has been appointed as group director of marketing and communications. She previously worked as Dusit International’s corporate director of public relations & communications.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Krister Svensson as general manager of the newly opened St. Regis Bangkok. Prior to the St. Regis Bangkok, he was general manager of the W Hong Kong, where his achievements included increasing occupancy by more than 25%. Before that, he managed The Westin Resort Guam. He has also managed the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, Australia; and Le Meridien Commodore Beirut. Before joining Starwood, Svensson worked for several prestigious Shangri-La brand hotels in Asia, Indonesia and the Middle East.
