Los Angeles-based Palisociety has announced its second property in the Pacific Northwest, Hotel Grand Stark, set to debut in May in the city's Central Eastside neighborhood. Hotel Grand Stark is part of the brand's expanding independent collection portfolio, sitting alongside its signature Palihouse and Palihotel branded properties with a moniker of its own. In addition to its recent acquisition of the ARRIVE brand, Hotel Grand Stark will be the brand's second new 2021opening, following Palihouse Santa Barbara, debuting in March.

Xenia Hotels & Resorts Acquires Hyatt Regency Portland At The Oregon Convention Center

Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: XHR) ("Xenia" or the "Company") today announced it has acquired the newly developed 600-room Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center located in Portland, Oregon for a purchase price of $190 million, or approximately $317,000 per key. The purchase price includes the complete development cost of the hotel, as well as pre-opening and startup costs, working capital, and all supplies to ensure the hotel was fully operational upon opening. The acquisition was funded with cash available on the Company's balance sheet and its senior unsecured credit facility. The Company does not anticipate the hotel to materially impact the Company's EBITDA during the remainder of 2019.

Scott Lane has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland

Scott Lane has been named general manager of Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, set to open January 28, 2020. Lane will manage all property and opening operations for the 220-guest room hotel located in the heart of downtown Portland, including the on-property restaurant Masia. Throughout his 30-year career with Hyatt, Lane has grown from part-time front desk agent to general manager, most recently serving as regional vice president of sales for Hyatt. Prior to this role, he held positions as the area director of sales in Denver and San Antonio, director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt San Antonio, and director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

Shane Nicolopoulos has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center

Hospitality veteran Shane Nicolopoulos has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, slated to open December 19, 2019. In his new role, Nicolopoulos will oversee all property and opening operations for the hotel including 600 well-appointed guestrooms, an estimated 300 colleagues, and all food and beverage operations. Nicolopoulos has grown his 20-year hospitality career with Hyatt, having held leadership positions with properties across the Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency and Andaz brands. Most recently, Nicolopoulos served as general manager of Andaz San Diego.

The New Hotel Redmond By SCP Scheduled To Open After Two-Year, $7 Million Renovation

Soul Community Planet announced today that after a two-year, $7 million renovation, The New Hotel Redmond by SCP will open this year. Marriott International Signs Contract with BPM Real Estate Group to Bring The Ritz-Carlton Brand to Portland, Pacific Northwest for First Time

Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) has signed an agreement with developer BPM Real Estate Group to bring its Ritz-Carlton brand for the first time to Portland and the Pacific Northwest. Under the contract, the brand would manage 251 hotel rooms and 138 residential units - including eight spacious penthouses - within a nearly $600 million, 35-story tower that would have sweeping views of the city's majestic landscape. Construction is expected to commence later this year, with an anticipated opening in early 2023.
