Randi Hamilton has been named General Manager at the Detroit Marriott Southfield

Randi Hamilton was promoted to general manager of the Detroit Marriott Southfield following her time as director of operations for the Sheraton Detroit Novi. She entered HEI’s Fast-Track Program, which permits associates accelerated advancement to high-level executive posts. Hamilton was sales manager, guest services director and director of operations for the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield, Mich., before joining HEI. Previously, she was assistant banquet manager, manager and director of banquets for the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo, Mich. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business and Human Resource Management from Western Michigan University.

Joe Shurmur has been named General Manager at the Detroit Metro Airport Marriott

Joe Shurmur was transferred to his new position from a general manager post at the HEI-owned and operated Detroit Marriott Southfield. This internal move allows Joe to further his career growth within HEI. Prior to joining the company, Shurmur oversaw the day-to-day operations of the 108-room Omni Hotel in Detroit as general manager. Previously, he was the hotel manager for the Wyndham Philadelphia, where he supervised a staff of over 450. Shurmur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and became a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) through the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association.

Steve Zanella has been appointed as General Manager at MGM Grand Detroit

Mr. Zanella will assume the former operational responsibilities of MGM Detroit President and Chief Operating Officer Lorenzo Creighton, who resigned to become CEO of a Vancouver-based gaming company. Mr. Zanella joined the Company in 1991 as a participant of the corporate Management Associate Program, a hands-on training course for college graduates. After two years in finance-related positions, he was promoted to Domestic Marketing Administrator of Table Games Marketing for The Mirage. From there, he traveled to Beau Rivage to serve as Director of Slot Marketing and Player Development in 1998. He was promoted to Vice President of Slots two years later, before returning to Las Vegas and his first position with MGM Grand Las Vegas in 2001. Mr. Zanella has a bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he graduated with high honors.

Paulette Kruger has been named Director of Sales at Radisson Hotel

Kruger previously served as Director of Sales for the Radisson Bloomfield Hills from 1997 to 2005. She rejoins the Radisson team from her most recent position as Director of Sales for the Hilton Garden Inn in Southfield, MI. With nearly 20 years of hospitality experience, Kruger’s previous roles include Director of Sales for the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham, MI, and Sales Manager for the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI.
