GRI Sustainable Hospitality | Advances In Nearly Zero Energy Buildings On The Path To 2050 | ๐ŸŒ EN

Based on assumption of additional investment costs related to constructing a near zero energy building (case in hand is a Passive House hotel), discounting the savings and the overall emissions saved over the lifetime of the building - we obtain an attractive financial payback, but also, looking at the marginal abatement costs (that is: how do you get the most carbon abatement for the least cost) building efficiency is the way to go (summary of assumptions and calculations in video). For the existing hotel building supply, we are also looking at the dangers of stranding hospitality real estate as they become subject to retrofitting in order to keep up with decarbonisation targets, especially in countries with slow growth in new building stock. We also look at the global campaign by World.

Advances in Nearly Zero Energy Buildings on the Path to 2050; a presentation given by our special guests: Dr. Willy Legrand from the IU International University of Applied Sciences Germany and Victoria Burrows from the World Green Business Council at the GRI Global Committee on Sustainable Hospitality. The March eMeeting is sponsored by Berkeley Capital Group (BCG) and moderated by Lissa Engle, Managing Director at BCG.
