Work has already begun on upgrading the stately Victorian hotel and once complete, will include 170 refreshed modern guestrooms, fitness facilities, a spa and pool and state-of-the-art conference and events space for up to 500 delegates.

For meetings and events, there will be six state-of-the-art boardrooms and nine conference and events suites. The hotel will also receive a boost to its restaurant offerings, which will include a champagne bar and restaurant, lounge bar, terrace and private dining room.

The hotel is currently part of The Cairn Collection, a hand-picked portfolio of Cairn Group hotels. The Cairn Hotel Group is a family-owned business headquartered in Newcastle, with 50-years" experience in the industry. The hotel will continue to be owned and operated by The Cairn Group and will create a number of new jobs at all levels.
