Four Points By Sheraton Sacramento International Airport Under New Ownership, $2 Million Full-scale Property Renovation Underway

The Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport, located just three miles south of the airport, has been acquired by Santa Clara-based real estate company JMK Hotels, LLC and the Kehriotis family. Scott Griemsmann and Subu Thiagarajan of Paramount Lodging Advisors represented both Buyer and Seller in this transaction. Under its new ownership, the property will undergo a $2 million full-scale reno vation to include an exterior refresh, plus all 100 guestrooms, common areas, 14,000 square-feet of meetings space, and The Gateway restaurant. The renovation commenced in July 2018 and is expected to be completed in early 2019, remaining open over the duration.

Upgrades have begun with an exterior facelift including new paint and the addition of stacked stone to give the façade a clean, modern feel, as well as new pool furniture. A complete interior revamp will follow, including new paint, wallcoverings, carpets and furnishings in each of the property's guestrooms, corridors and lobby, as well as the addition of paintings of and artwork inspired by the surrounding area by local artists Miles Hermann and Camille VandenBerge. Finally, the renovation will include the hotel's onsite casual eatery, The Gateway restaurant, which caters to business and leisure travelers for breakfast, happy hour and dinner seven days a week.

In addition to common areas, the property's 14,000 square-feet of meeting space will be redesigned including new carpet, lighting fixtures and wallcoverings. Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport features two large banquet halls including the 7,500 square-foot Grand Place, accommodating up to 500 guests, and Rivers, a 4,500 square-foot room that houses 300 guests, plus three additional 675 square-foot rooms.

G. Tyler Babcock, AIA, LEED AP, principle of MFDB Architects, Inc. is the architect. The project team also includes Jody Hill of A1 Hospitality as interior designer. Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality manages hotel operations.
