Graduate Hotels® is excited to announce that Graduate Seattle officially opens its doors today. The 16-story, 154-room hotel is located on Brooklyn Avenue in Seattle's University District.

Graduate Seattle's design honors the historic 1930s building and pays tribute to UW, its alumni as well as the city's rich landscape. The hotel's food and beverage outlets include: Poindexter Coffee, a café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in bookish surrounds; and the Mountaineering Club, a rooftop bar and restaurant with stunning views.

Created for travelers who seek memory-making journeys, Graduate Hotels is a thoughtfully crafted collection of hotels that reside in dynamic, university-anchored cities across the country. Each property celebrates and commemorates the optimistic energy of its community, while offering an extended retreat to places that play host to the best days of our lives.

Graduate Hotels took care to preserve many of the building's original details from the 1930s, while injecting the space with fresh and unexpected design moments. Two 18-foot purple plaid sofas, a cozy fireplace and a two-story wall installation of vintage amps and speakers welcome guests in the lobby. Additional purple details throughout highlight the hotel's Husky pride. In guest rooms, custom Dungeness crab wallpaper is a nod to Puget Sound, and the artwork celebrates a variety of Seattle notables, including astronaut Michael P. Anderson and rapper Sir Mix-a- Lot. Black and white tile floors and pale pink walls maintain an art deco palette.

The lobby-level café, Poindexter Coffee, opens later this month and will serve hot breakfast sandwiches, fresh salads, smoothies, pressed juices, and more. Poindexter Coffee will also be the first restaurant in Seattle to serve coffee and espresso products from Coffee Manufactory, the specialty coffee brand created by the Bay Area's Tartine Bakery. The Mountaineer Club, opening later this year, boasts stunning views of Puget Sound, downtown Seattle, Mount Rainier and the Cascade Range.

The hotel offers more than 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. From the grand ballroom to cozier breakout and executive meeting rooms, Graduate Seattle is set to host weddings, social gatherings, receptions, corporate meetings and other events for groups of up to 160 guests.

Graduate Seattle is also part of Graduate Hotels' partnership with the Why Not You Foundation, the philanthropic organization led by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Grammy Award-winning singer Ciara. For every
