The Westin Philadelphia Completes First-Phase Of Multi-Million Dollar Renovation
The Westin Philadelphia, the award-winning 294-room hotel situated between City Hall and Rittenhouse Square, is excited to announce the completion of a two-million-dollar renovation to its expansive event space including the Grand Ballroom and the Georgian Room with views overlooking 17th Street.
The brand-new event spaces provide stunning backdrops for weddings, galas and conferences varying from intimate weddings to large-scale corporate conferences — in one of the city's most central locations. The six-month transformation added an elegant and modern room design with a monochromatic color palette, watercolor-esque wall covers, new leaf carpets and a Monet-inspired aesthetic. The renovation also included the addition of brand-new contemporary chairs, a range of bar and table options, a state-of-the-art lighting and audiovisual package, stage design, linens, and more.

Design Statement
Bill Rooney Studio Inc's redesign of The Westin Philadelphia is inspired by the majestic neighboring Schuylkill River and Philadelphia's natural and historical world. Therefore, the Grand Ballroom features watercolor-inspired wall covers and a Monet-feeling that marries with the heritage architecture of the building. Additionally, the new leaf carpet design, implemented throughout all public spaces, celebrates the founder of Pennsylvania, William Penn, who named the city streets after trees and plants instead of people.
It was the hotel's and designer's mission to add new contemporary design elements into the existing historic architecture of the building by introducing more neutral and brighter tones, brass accents, fresh organic carpet patterns, natural light elements and a collection of graphic art. The result is an elegant and modern aesthetic that presents The Westin Philadelphia and its 15,000 square feet of meeting spaces as the perfect event and meeting room venue.
