The hotel at 4453 Bonney Road - a half-mile from Town Center - is now under the management of National Hospitality Services.
The Fargo, North Dakota, company took over management of the property from Landmark Hotel Group on Nov. 18.
NHS and its partner company, One Rep Construction, plan a $14 million renovation of the Crowne Plaza Hotel to begin in late 2020.
Built in 1985, the 149-room, eight-floor hotel has over 12,000 square feet of event space, a fitness center, indoor pool, business center, restaurant and lounge.
Sarah Koustrup, chief operating officer of National Hospitality Services, said in a news release the renovations will create an upscale, premier destination hotel. Included will be improvements to the exterior, guest rooms, lobby and other public areas, event spaces and the on-site dining facilities, Tines Restaurant and Aqua Lounge.
General manager Brian Grappiolo said the renovation will allow the hotel to shine in the Virginia Beach Town Center community.
