Barceló Opens Its First Hotel In The Azores

The Barceló Hotel Group announced the opening of its first hotel in the Azores and the only five-star hotel on the island of Terceira.

With this 130-room property, the group is strengthening its presence in Portugal, where it has been operating the Allegro Madeira since 2018.

Barceló Angra Marina is the name of the five-star hotel located in the center of Angra do Heroísmo, capital of the island of Terceira (Azores), a city that was recognized in 1983 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This 130-room hotel overlooks the sea and has a wellness area with a spa and fitness facilities. Its facilities include an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and ice fountain. It also offers local and international cuisine at the Monte Brasil restaurant and, on the ninth floor of the building, cocktails and drinks at the Bahia Bar.

The hotel has 400 square meters for events and meetings on the ninth floor, as well as a 180-square-meter meeting room on the fifth floor and rooms of various capacities on the fourth floor.

Barceló Angra Marina is the first and only 5-star hotel on the island of Terceira and the second hotel that the hotel chain manages in Portugal, following the 2018 opening of the adults-only Allegro Madeira, located just minutes from the center of Funchal on the island of Madeira.
