The Vicarage [Flat Cap Hotels]
Flat Cap Hotel Group Secures Future for Landmark Cheshire Hotel
Renovation – 26 Rooms
The group has seen a record period of growth in the last 18 months and has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow, despite a difficult climate in the hospitality industry. After a significant restructuring aligned with a robust marketing strategy with skilled front of house teams, Flat Cap Hotels has become a dominant force positioned in the upscale lifestyle sector of the Hotel and Pub market.
Rescued from dereliction when the group moved in as tenants in 2015, the 17th century Grade II listed Vicarage Hotel had been closed for the 5 years prior to this. The property is well known as a focal point of the rural community outside Holmes Chapel, it sits on the banks of the River Dane with picturesque views across the valley and farmers' fields. Following a period of extensive renovation, the property opened its doors in 2016 and has never looked back.
The refurbishment and repositioning of the grade II listed property has led to The Vicarage becoming an established landmark within the local community. The Vicarage focuses on employing from the local area and works with local colleges and universities providing internships, NVQ programmes and careers through the Flat Cap Academy.
The Vicarage serves seasonal British cuisine made with locally sourced produce, from the homegrown Cheshire farmers, butchers, and grocers, within a 30 mile radius.
When covid began and the Government restrictions were put in place; The Vicarage adapted and supported the local community by providing accommodation facilities to the NHS and Leighton Hospital, as well as providing food boxes and a successful takeaway and delivery service to the local area.
The Vicarage refurbishment and decor has adopted a modern feel whilst paying homage to the property's heritage dating back to 1635 as a former Vicarage. The menu and relaxing environment appeals to corporate companies for meetings as well as to couples for exclusive weddings as well as families, dog walkers and cyclists as a go-to place in the valley of Holmes Chapel.
There are exciting plans for further investment into The Vicarage in the New Year with enhancements to the outdoor areas and terraces as well as adding more bedrooms and suites.
