Visionary British hospitality brand The Signet Collection has officially opened its second hotel, The Retreat at Elcot Park in West Berkshire. Housed in a Grade II-listed 18th-century building with 55 bedrooms and suites, interior design firm Taylor & Turner has created a retreat that offers complete escapism and a sense of fun. Following the success of its 'cousin' The Mitre in Hampton Court, this highly anticipated opening is sure to excite locals and Londoners alike being just 40-minutes from London by train and 10 minutes by car from both Hungerford and Newbury.
The Courtyard
Within the hotel's grounds is The Courtyard, a mixed-use retail space consisting of a Bakery & Coffee House, Hair and Nail Salon, a Lay & Wheeler Wine Store, and a monthly farmers' market. The space is a celebration of the very best of Berkshire and is a welcoming and informal space for the local community and hotel guests alike to meet, relax and enjoy. Highlights include The Hair Salon, headed up by Adam Russell who brings over 20 years of experience working for glittering celebrity clientele at Richard Ward's award-winning Sloane Square salon as well as The Lay & Wheeler Wine Store showcasing a curated range of 50 fine wines - including rare and collectable vintages from France, South Africa, Germany, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.
The Signet Spa
The Signet Spa is the hotel's very own Health Club which boasts facilities including an indoor vitality pool, mud rasul, salt flotation room, steam & sauna, state-of-the-art gymnasium, and three treatment rooms with treatments by ILA as well as an outdoor infinity pool.
Set within 16 acres, The Retreat hopes to become a destination in its own right with experiences such as croquet and trout fishing, and a wide range of facilities including tennis courts, a children's zone, a croquet lawn, and landscaped gardens. The hotel has three restaurants and multiple private dining spaces: a Pan-Asian restaurant (Yü), an all-day dining Brasserie (1772), an Orangery and a Whisky Library.
