The award-winning AAA Five-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club has announced a $30 million guest room refresh of its 400-guest rooms and suites set to debut in September.

Concept and Inspiration

Inspired by the relaxed charm of the resort's sun-splashed Southern California destination, the design narrative balances an approachable aesthetic with unapologetic attitude. Mingling the region's Spanish Colonial influences with artistic exuberance, the stately resort is reminiscent of a sprawling seaside hacienda. Design updates nod to local history and the Pacific Ocean itself with a coastal color palette, natural finishes, and curated collections of art. The redesign is in partnership with award-winning Whitespace Interiors, a Chicago-based design firm.

Redesigned Guest Rooms

Each of the resort's 400 guest rooms and suites will receive new flooring, furnishing and finishes reflecting the reimagined design concept. Other enhancements include upgraded fire boxes for Fireside Terrace Rooms. These 77 ground-level guest rooms and suites boast a private fire pit and enchanting views of the resort, golf fairway or ocean - perfect for roasting s'mores or enjoying cool Orange County evenings.

Renovated Suites

The resort will convert 20 of its Studio Suites to one-bedroom suites, including the expansion of a spacious living room separate from the bedroom, plus a private terrace. These Deluxe One-Bedroom Suites are ideal for solo or "work from anywhere" travelers seeking a luxurious Southern California getaway.
