The new resort from The Emerald Collection is a celebration of Tanzania's tropical landscape and cultural heritage.

Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa, by The Emerald Collection, opens its doors today. The property is the first venture outside of the Maldives for the family-run luxury hospitality group, renowned for its Deluxe All-Inclusive Formula in the Maldives, and now, in Tanzania.

Located on the north-east coast of the island in the Muyuni area, the new resort perches between the coastline and acres of tropical jungle, directly in front of Mnemba island. Situated within 10- hectares of land sloping down towards the sea, Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa is surrounded by an oval reef, which has been declared as a precious marine conservation area.

Uniquely, the Leading Hotels of the World property exclusively offers suite accommodations, with 250 suites across 7 different categories. Like all resorts in The Emerald Collection, guests at Emerald Zanzibar will experience an elevated take on an all-inclusive stay, thanks to the brand's signature Deluxe All-Inclusive Formula, which provides guests with the fullest experience possible, no matter the suite category reserved. In Zanzibar, guests can look forward to gourmet a la carte dining, luxury international wines, beers and spirits, access to unlimited non-motorised watersports and the 5-Star Diving Centre, the Emerald Spa with Thai and Balinese treatments, and Dolphin Kids Club.

A world of flavour awaits with four international restaurants, four bars, and even a Gelateria (Gelato shop). At the resort's main all-day restaurant, Aqua, international cuisine is served from sunrise to sunset, while the Beach Club serves lunch on the sand for relaxed dining overlooking the Indian Ocean. From a Churrasca concept with South American fare at Carnivorous, to classic Asian dishes and live Teppanyaki cooking at Le Asiatique and Teppanyaki Grill, the real luxury at Emerald Zanzibar is the variety of dining choice.

From nesting green turtles and bottlenose dolphins, to schools of colourful tropical reef fish, the underwater landscape of the Indian Ocean is on the resort's doorstep. At the 5-Star Diving Centre, trained divers will guide visitors of all abilities to get to know lionfish and bannerfish, as well as anthias and powder blue tangs. Whilst parents explore the Zanzibarian environment, the Dolphins Kids Club, with its trained multilingual team, will keep little ones entertained with creative and educational activities and games both indoors and outdoors.

The 5-star all-suite resort in Tanzania is the first in the collection on the African continent. It joins Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa (opened 2019) and the new Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa (opened October 2022), which are also affiliates of The Leading Hotels of the World.
