Martinhal Resorts has announced the opening of Martinhal Residences and Martinhal Lisbon Oriente. Now open, the luxury riverside hotel and residences located in Lisbon's contemporary Park of Nations neighborhood, marks an important new chapter for the Martinhal brand, which is already renowned for its collection of family hotels and resorts in Portugal's top destinations across Lisbon and the Algarve. A new level of design, sophistication and service has been imagined by the brand's founders, Chitra and Roman Stern, who welcome guests to their first hotel and branded residences development, in Lisbon's thriving cultural hub.

Designed for a new era of travel, set to meet the demands of savvy guests - whether it's a family or bleisure travelers looking for the flexibility of self-catering options, with the added benefit of luxury hotel services - Martinhal Lisbon Oriente offers the ideal hybrid solution. Its 82 hotel accommodations range from studios to one, two and three bedroom self-catered apartments and come fully outfitted with amenities including full kitchens; featuring smart Smeg appliances, elegant Portuguese porcelain tableware, fridges, dishwashers, washer/ dryers and separate living spaces. Additionally, there are 70 Martinhal Residences including a collection of 7 penthouse apartments. They all enjoy views of the Tagus River and the neighboring park.

Visitors to Lisbon, looking for extra space and the conveniences of a resort within a city, have access to excellent facilities including; 24/7 front desk, a Family & Baby Concierge, an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool, a fitness center, a Martinhal Kids Club - "Raposinhos" (Little Fox) with child care programs suited to the youngest guests, and Terrace Café Bar Restaurant, the hotel's signature restaurant that opens up onto a magnificent outdoor terrace. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, à la carte dining, the theme of the restaurant pays homage to the hotel's location being in "Oriente" (the east side of Lisbon) and featuring dishes inspired by the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Japan. A fully equipped business center with co-working spaces, call pods and smart technology (WiFi 6), caters ideally to the 'mobile office' generation coming to Lisbon for both short, and extended stays.

Sustainably designed, the building's architecture was commissioned by world-famous Portuguese architect, Eduardo Capinha Lopes who erected a modern green façade in a prime position in the Park of Nations. Well-conceived green areas and expansive terrace gardens have been planted with olive trees, while the abundance of greenery and light throughout the property, aims to amplify the feeling of space, while improving the building's thermal performance, protecting it from heat, reducing energy consumption and noise pollution.

A nod to the creative local art scene, guests will find iconic pieces throughout the property by some of Portugal's top artists. Large scale trash art installations created by leading street artist Bordalo II can be spotted in the restaurant and in the lobby and evoke a strong message around the importance of preserving nature, while colorful, playful murals have been created by Kruella D'Enfer - a renowned Portuguese visual artist and illustrator. Additionally, internationally acclaimed contemporary artist, Graça Paz brings a pop of color to the apartments with her unique geometric prints.

The hotel's prime location in the contemporary, riverside neighborhood of the Park of Nations - set in the new northeast part of Lisbon, and built for the 1998 Expo, is today known for its avant-garde architecture, dynamic restaurants and bars, riverside walks, street art displays, and is home to some of the city's top family attractions, including the Oceanarium, the Science Museum and the panoramic Cable Car (Telecabine Lisboa). The destination also hosts world-class concerts and performances (Madonna and Andrea Bocelli will be performing at the Altice Arena in 2023, to name a few). It is conveniently located within a short drive or metro ride from Lisbon's historic center, and only a five minute drive from Lisbon's international airport.

Hotel rates start from €165 per night in a studio apartment, based on 2 adults sharing on a self-catered basis (room-only). For a one bedroom apartment, rates start at €278 per night based on 2 adults and one baby sharing on a self-catering basis (room-only).
