Marriott’s first W Hotels property in Scotland to Open this Winter
The opening of the first W Hotels property in Scotland by Marriott is scheduled for this winter, almost a decade after the initial announcement of the project.
The official website of the group indicates that W Edinburgh is set to open its doors in November 2023, and reservations can be made starting from mid-November.
The hotel, which comprises 244 rooms, was initially revealed in 2016 when Starwood Hotels was still managing the brand before merging with Marriott. The property, characterized by its unique spiral ribbon facade, is part of the St James Quarter in the East End of Edinburgh, which also includes an aparthotel operated by the Roomzzz brand.
As previously mentioned in 2020, the hotel will house a rooftop restaurant operated by the Japanese-Brazilian-Peruvian fusion brand SUSHISAMBA, Joao's Place cocktail bar, the iconic W Lounge, as well as a gym and spa.
This establishment will be the second W Hotels property in the UK, following the opening of W London in 2011.
The upcoming launch of W Edinburgh comes after the notable introduction of the Virgin Hotels brand in Edinburgh last year.
