TRIBE Krakow Old Town Opens in Poland as Essendi Strengthens Its Position in Eastern Europe
Essendi, a leading hotel owner and operator in Europe, announces the opening of TRIBE Krakow Old Town, a four-star hotel located on Worcella Street, just steps from Krakow's historic centre. This is the first hotel in Poland under Accor's bold, design-led TRIBE brand and represents one of Essendi's key strategic investments in its continued European expansion.
A strategically significant investment
TRIBE Krakow Old Town is the result of a fully integrated investment model, with Essendi acting as landowner, investor, operator, and long-term asset holder. It is the Group's seventh hotel in Krakow and, together with Mercure Krakow Old Town, forms a multi-site hotel complex in one of Poland's most dynamic tourism and business destinations.
The opening marks a new milestone in Essendi's growth strategy and reflects the strength of its long-standing partnership with Accor, a global hospitality leader.
A new destination in the heart of the city
TRIBE Krakow Old Town offers 168 rooms and suites, a TRIBE Table pan-Asian restaurant, a signature cocktail bar, a stylish lobby with a specialty café, a Social Hub, two meeting rooms, an urban garden, a wellness zone with fitness and spa facilities, and a sauna. As the first TRIBE property in Poland, it joins a global portfolio of over 20 hotels in more than 10 countries. TRIBE celebrates bold design, diversity, and smart functionality, offering everything guests need - and nothing they don't. Each property reflects the brand's commitment to quality, creativity, and vibrant spaces tailored to the tastes and expectations of modern travellers.
The hotel is led by Tomasz Schweda, Multi-Site General Manager for both TRIBE Krakow Old Town and Mercure Krakow Old Town.
A project with a vision
TRIBE Krakow Old Town is applying for BREEAM 'Excellent' certification and is equipped with advanced energy management systems (GTC, GRMS). Sustainable materials were used throughout construction and fit-out, in line with Essendi's commitment to environmentally responsible development.
Essendi's in-house Design & Construction team played a pivotal role in ensuring the hotel met the highest standards in functionality, design, and sustainability, in line with TRIBE's global brand identity.
Architecturally, the hotel integrates harmoniously into its surroundings. The building was designed by Ingarden & Ewý, a Krakow-based architecture studio, while the interiors were developed by Stone Designs from Spain. Inspired by the cinematic style of David Lynch, the interiors feature dramatic lighting, velvet textures, and bold contrasts, creating a distinctive and memorable atmosphere.
The project was delivered in collaboration with expert partners: general construction was carried out by SARIVO Budownictwo Sp. z o.o. Sp.K., technical supervision by BatiPlus Polska Sp. z o.o., and investor representation by AKA Studio.
Today, TRIBE Krakow Old Town welcomes its very first guests into a space designed not just to impress, but to evolve, engage, and endure.
