Maison Silhouette
Hotel de Silhouette : A New Way to Live Biarritz, France
Hôtel de Silhouette expands with La Maison Silhouette, just a few footsteps away from its main property in Biarritz. Designed by the French interior designer Studio Juliette Saier, this refined Maison blends charm and modern comfort in a lifestyle cocoon.
These suites are ideal for families and for guests planning a longer stay, offering both comfort and autonomy. They feature spacious connecting rooms with living rooms equipped with large screen TVs and video game consoles, ample storage space as well as a dedicated kitchenette — perfect for those who wish to feel at home while enjoying the services of the hotel.
There are extensions that add rooms. Others that slightly shift the center of gravity. Maison Silhouette is one of the latter. You'll need to cross Rue Gambetta to discover this new address, housed in a building with typically local architecture. Terraces, surfboards, red shutters. Hotel de Silhouette has established itself in recent years as one of the most sought-after addresses in the city, and is now expanding by taking over the former Maison Garnier. Making Maison Silhouette its intimate annex. A house of six spacious, fully equipped suites, designed as true living spaces, that preserves the Silhouette spirit, its art of understated hospitality, its rootedness in the city, while offering a more residential feel.
More space, first and foremost. The very tangible luxury of rooms where you can breathe, where you can truly settle in. More intimacy, that rare feeling of being sheltered from the flow, of being able to disappear a little without ever giving up on service. A different way of inhabiting hospitality. Here, nothing is disassociated from Hôtel de Silhouette: the welcome, breakfast, the attention given to guests, the knowledge of the local area. With all the charm of a private home, and that very contemporary kind of gentleness that invites each guest to invent their own stay.
Maison Silhouette expérience
Stepping through the door as one would enter a private home, with that feeling of slipping into a different rhythm. A place almost set apart, while the city continues to pulse just a few meters away. Inside, everything is designed to sustain that impression. The spaces are larger, the uses more flexible. Some suites open onto terraces, others are organized around proper living rooms, sometimes even a kitchenette. Some connect to one another or feature balconies and terraces. A place to simply stay. Read, work, entertain, do nothing at all.
Rooms, décor, details
The interior design of Maison Silhouette was entrusted to Studio Juliette Saier, who offers here another interpretation of the Silhouette universe, conceived at the scale of a home. The project draws on codes already present such as ceramics, Basque red, ikat patterns, reinterpreted in a more muted register. Lines soften, materials gain depth. Together, they compose a warm, almost domestic atmosphere, designed to be lived in.
The rooms
Spread across three floors, the six rooms, three of which are suites, offer generous volumes with true living spaces: sitting rooms, large walk-in wardrobes, terraces, and for some, a kitchenette. But also a TV screen and gaming consoles available on request, for rainy days. The palette revolves around deep tones of brown, red and garnet, reinforcing that impression of a discreet cocoon. Two rooms beneath the eaves take a bolder stance: entirely red, they offer a more immersive experience. Each room features the work of local artists, including Fabien Cayere's photographs on wood and compositions by Jeanne, Les Filles du Surf, grounding the whole in the Basque imagination.
Living Biarritz, from the Maison
Between ocean and mountains, Biarritz has a rhythm all its own. From Maison Silhouette, everything is within walking distance. Rue Gambetta leads directly to Les Halles, where life unfolds from morning to night: market, cafés, aperitifs, dinners. The beach is just a few minutes away. Heading out, walking, stopping along the way, without really planning. Central, yet never exposed: once back through the door of the Maison, the calm returns. The garden of Hôtel Silhouette, set slightly apart, becomes a point of anchor. A place to return to after the beach, at the end of the day, or simply to sit for a moment. The team looks after guests with great attentiveness. Recommendations are never fixed, tailored to each person, to the weather, the time of day, the mood. A more sheltered beach, a quieter spot, an afternoon walk worth taking. Or the best places to watch the sunset.
