Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts launches Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel, bringing the brand to Puglia and expanding its Italian portfolio

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts announces the opening of Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel, marking the brand’s arrival in Puglia and reinforcing Tivoli’s growing presence in Italy with its fourth property: a meticulously renovated historic palazzo in Lecce’s city centre featuring 48 rooms and suites, signature dining, panoramic rooftop experience, and a dedicated wellness area.

Located in the historic centre of Lecce on Via Imperatore Augusto, the hotel is set between Piazza Sant’Oronzo and Piazzetta Santa Chiara and places guests within immediate reach of the city’s celebrated Baroque architecture, vibrant cafés and wine bars, and major landmarks including the Roman Amphitheatre, the Basilica di Santa Croce and Lecce Cathedral. Often referred to as the “Florence of the South”, Lecce is recognised for its golden sandstone (known as Pietra Leccese) façades, ornate Baroque detailing and strong cultural identity, offering an exceptional base from which to explore Salento and the wider Puglia region with its UNESCO Heritage Sites and most popular attractions.

Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel is a historic 19th-century palazzo with deep local roots. The building first served as a 15th-century inn before being transformed into a noble hotel that opened in 1880. Today, the property comprises 48 rooms, including 13 suites, designed to welcome discerning guests. Accommodation ranges from elegant Superior and Deluxe categories to Premium rooms with balconies or views, complemented by an enhanced suite offering that includes Junior Suites, Suites with jacuzzi or private spa, and a distinctive Presidential Suite featuring a private outdoor terrace with views over the Roman Amphitheatre.

Gastronomy is central to the guest experience and is presented across three distinct venues: Godot Restaurant, the Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar and the Lobby Bar. The name Godot recalls Samuel Beckett’s celebrated work, evoking the ideas of anticipation and desire. Menus highlight Mediterranean flavours, including artisan pastas, fresh seafood and seasonal local produce, paired with Italian wines. The rooftop experience is designed to capture Lecce at its most atmospheric, with sweeping views towards the city’s iconic cathedral bell tower. The Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar is suited to sunset aperitive and evening socialising, accommodating up to 100 guests standing or 40 seated, with opening hours from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm.

A dedicated wellness area includes two treatment rooms, an indoor heated salt-water pool, a steam room and sauna, as well as a relaxation lounge with a tisaneria (herbal tea corner). A fully equipped gym completes the wellness journey and offers direct access to the rooftop area, creating a distinctive indoor–outdoor fitness experience.

To enrich the guest experience and deepen the sense of place, the hotel offers privileged access to a carefully selected portfolio of beach clubs on both coastlines, from the Adriatic shores in the east to the Ionian coast in the west. Guests may also enjoy an exclusive agreement with a swimming pool located around 4 km from the hotel, including reserved areas and dedicated service.

Open all year round, the hotel is well positioned to support meetings and events in Lecce throughout every season. It offers two intimate event spaces suited to small corporate gatherings, private celebrations and exclusive buyouts, with flexible configurations accommodating up to approximately 40 guests, depending on the set-up.

The hotel’s central address offers convenient access to Lecce’s main cultural attractions and provides an ideal base from which to explore the Salento peninsula and its coastline. The nearest beaches are approximately 15–20 minutes away by car, with popular options including San Cataldo Beach, Torre dell’Orso, Porto Cesareo and Gallipoli. Connectivity is equally straightforward, with Lecce train station around 1 km from the hotel, Brindisi Papola Casale Airport reachable in approximately 30–35 minutes by car and Bari-Karol Wojtyla International Airport about 2 hours-drive.
