Chapter Chianti
Chapter Chianti Redefines the Modern Tuscan Retreat
Today, Chapter Chianti officially opens its doors in the rolling hills of Tuscany's iconic Chianti region. Set within a restored 17th-century original borgo spanning over 50 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and landscaped gardens, the property marks the second opening in the Chapter Italia portfolio, developed by Marco Cilia following the success of Chapter Roma. Bringing the brand's signature energy, contemporary design and social spirit beyond the city for the first time, Chapter Chianti introduces a fresh and unexpected take on the Italian countryside.
Set within a natural amphitheatre of rolling vineyards and ancient olive groves, Chapter Chianti offers a vibrant new perspective on Tuscan hospitality. Characterful and considered, the 82-key retreat reimagines the traditional agriturismo through a contemporary lens, blending striking design, authentic connection and a distinctively social spirit. Framed by more than 3,000 olive and cypress trees, the hotel's culinary, wellness, and experiential offering is guided by a philosophy of revival and vibrancy, delivering an immersive, energising, and unexpected escape that feels anything but sleepy.
Signature Design
Conceived by acclaimed interiors architect Tristan du Plessis, the property balances contemporary design with a deep respect for place. Drawing inspiration from the estate's history and the craftspeople who once worked the land, the interiors celebrate texture, materiality and enduring craftsmanship. From the hotel's arrival entrance, to its 82 expertly executed rooms and suites, restaurants and social spaces, Du Plessis layers neutral tones with rich greens and earthy hues, revealing the original character of the 17th-century borgo through a distinctly modern lens.
Original stone staircases and vaulted ceilings have been carefully preserved, while clean architectural lines, local stone and marble, handcrafted furniture from neighbouring craftsmen, and custom lighting from DCW Editions and Marset sit alongside local furnishings. Throughout the property, bespoke hand-drawn artworks by up-and-coming artists bring an expressive, playful layer to interiors, with works by Kokekit showcased across the ceilings of Osso, a striking work concealed beneath the swimming pool, and pieces in guest rooms throughout the borgo.
Culinary Art
The culinary vision, led by Chef Daniele Auricchio — Neapolitan-born, with experience spanning Michelin-starred kitchens across the globe — celebrates soulful Italian cuisine. At the very heart of the offering is Osso, the hotel's signature restaurant, named after the Italian word for "bone" and dedicated to championing Tuscan meat-centric traditions, regional produce and locally sourced cheeses and ingredients gathered from the surrounding countryside.
By day, the Parasole Pool Bar serves Mediterranean-inspired light bites beneath Crema Outdoor's signature pagoda parasols, while the hotel's vibrant Main Bar channels the energy of downtown New York through a dynamic cocktail programme alongside live entertainment.
Across the property, a 120-bottle wine list showcases the best of the region, weighted toward Tuscan and Chianti labels. In 2027, the property will welcome Hey Güey, the much-loved Mexican restaurant from Chapter Roma, bringing traditional tacos and empanadas alongside signature cocktails to the Tuscan hills from noon until late.
Wellbeing Rituals
Wellness takes centre stage with the debut of F.A.R.M Social (Forever A Relaxed Mood), the brand's first fully realised spa concept that blends holistic relaxation with high-performance facilities. The dedicated 500sqm space includes a Turkish steam bath, sauna, dry hammam and a 130sqm state-of-the-art Panatta fitness centre, alongside an outdoor padel court. The indoor pool circuit draws inspiration from ancient Roman bathhouses, with five pools including warm, two cold plunges, hydrotherapy, and salt, complemented by three treatment rooms offering bespoke 111 Skin facials and holistic massages. Personal training is available on request, alongside yoga with a local expert offered one-to-one, in groups, and for mothers-to-be.
Destination-Led Experiences
Beyond dining and wellness, experiences at Chapter Chianti are designed to immerse guests in the everyday rhythms, traditions and landscape. Year-round activities range from horseback riding through vineyards, truffle hunting and olive oil harvesting to hot air balloon excursions over the Chianti hills, falconry, and hands-on cooking classes with Chef Daniele. Adults and young guests will adore learning the art of Italian specialities such as Picci Wild Boar Ragù and pizza crafting beside the property's original stone oven — once the village's central oven for the entire community, restored especially for guests.
Through summer, romantic picnics unfold among the groves, alongside guided hikes and e-bike tours. In the colder seasons, guests can blend and bottle their own signature scent with the help of a visiting master perfumer or take up chess lessons and tournaments with a local pro.
Celebrations Chapter-Style
With a collection of inspiring indoor and outdoor event spaces offering expansive views, including a licence to host wedding ceremonies on-site, Chapter Chianti offers an exceptional setting for special occasions to remember.
In 2027, Chapter Chianti will debut The Mansion, the ultimate private escape. The five-bedroom villa, available for individual or private hire, comes complete with its own outdoor swimming pool, private butler and chef on demand, plus full access to the facilities of the main hotel. The outdoor spa swimming pool and Chapter's iconic Hey Güey restaurant will also be unveiled next season.
